I make most of my income sports betting (not promoting) and have since the early days of online gambling. I browse this forum from time to time because I am also a full time affiliate promoting mostly online poker.
fwiw here is my take:
If you care about your players then this is the list of sportsbooks which accept American players and are good to promote and will treat your players right.
Also including my personal grading from player prospective:
Bet Jamaica A+
TheGreek A+
5Dimes A-
Bookmakers A
Bodog A
Skybook B-
JustBet B
Intertops B-Add WSEX and Matchbook also to this list as A but they only work affiliate deals with authority sites.
Sportsbook.com I rate a D
BetUs.com I rate a F
(Along with all their properties)The other book mentioned Bet Empire I’ll toss in Sports Interaction and put them in the same category. These are C range sportsbook, they are not scum like BetUS or Sportsbook.com and are decent but rate below the first 10 sportsbooks I mentioned in this thread.
April 4, 2007 at 3:50 am #732934AnonymousInactiveI must get my ARSE along to check out 5Dimes and TheGreek books.
Heard a lot of good things about them but never even bothered to take a look – so perhaps it’s time I clicked a link or two …
:hattip:April 4, 2007 at 4:51 am #732941AnonymousGuestHi all,
I’m still amazed that sportsbook.com has such a bad rating because although I only promoted them about 6 months .. I’ve been a player there for more than 6 years … probably more like 7 or 8 …. and they’ve always been like gold to me. Never had to wait on a payment … never had a single reason to complain. of course ….. I’m only a football better and as such … don’t visit their site for 3/4 the year but truthfully . .. never had a reason to complain. and as most of you know me ….. I’d sing if given a reason
glad I stepped away from promoting them (due to being sports related when the new law scared me off) …as I never want to promote a place that doesn’t put players first. *took me that 5 years + to get the confidence to promote them even though I was happy with them all that time …. if that gives an idea how cautious I am
April 4, 2007 at 5:41 am #732943AnonymousInactiveAfter trying different books… my best results have come from Book Maker and I am now featuring them across my network.
April 4, 2007 at 5:01 pm #732983PatrickMMemberThe F rate is really something from old school BetUS. We’re a lot better now, if that’s in anyway an opinion of the NEW BetUS, I’d be VERY surprised.
Also, if it’s an opinion based on what SBR say then well, I won’t even go there, let’s just say their ratings are biased and fuelled by advertising money.
I am here if anyone wishes to promote the best by far converting sportsbook. When everyone else are having trouble taking deposits (especially from the US) we are not. If you do decide to work with us then you have me as a personal liaison with any problem.
I’ve been here at this company for over a year and a half and came from the UK working with Littlewoods Gaming and Betfred previously. I have a perfectly clean record in this industry now for over 8 years and was 100% sure I was joining here because the company wanted quality staff and wanted to turn this company around.
April 4, 2007 at 5:35 pm #732986AnonymousInactiveMy personal experience with BetUS is from many years ago. It took 5 months to get paid out $17,000 and I probably never would of got paid had I not been so persistent. I’m over that, a lot of companies have gotten a lot better now then they were back then.
A response on recent stuff:
I don’t ever read past the first page of news at SBR, I check them mostly for updates and specific player complaints.
I have over 10,000 posts total across sports betting forums over the past few years and It doesn’t matter how big or how small the forum is. If you got to any sports betting forum the most common sports book that people complain about is BetUS.I just stopped by and checked RX and of course on the very first page here is another BetUS complaint: http://forum.therx.com/showthread.php?t=472461&highlight=betus
Some of the more respected posters here chiming in that BetUS is shady or a scam etc.
Fezzik’s place does not discuss sportsbooks specifically much but still plenty of stuff here. Here is the search results:
http://forums.lasvegasadvisor.com/searchresults.cfm?requesttimeout=5002+2’s Sports betting forum is kind of small (mostly poker players there) but was surprised not to see any complaints. There is a small thread in their internet gambling forum: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=inet&Number=9587565&Searchpage=1&Main=9350282&Words=BetUS&topic=&Search=true#Post9587565
These are just a few sample. You can think what you want about how customers of BetUS feel about them. If you want the truth go to these forums and start a new thread named: “Should I use BetUS?” and see what the responses are.
April 4, 2007 at 6:08 pm #732990PatrickMMemberAgain, if you read back where I comment on how everyone in the business are having payout issues. I also stated that miscommunication caused operations staff to misinform clients about payouts.
The fact of it is that since UIEGA a lot of books are having problems, we’re still here battling away to get more processors and more methods of payments ready if/when they fail.
April 4, 2007 at 6:20 pm #732991AnonymousInactiveI usually am not the type to get mixed up in these types of threads but agreed with TheGooner’s post and had some info to share about which books using affiliates and accepting Americans i thought were the best and which ones to avoid.
The last comments I’ll make on the subject of BetUS: I hope BetUS truly is better now the industry had a bad enough rep as it is and its sad to see people sweeting payouts etc – and that I’ve been less active myself on forum since UIGE – with less outs to bet at and the drop in affiliate revenue I’ve been working 10x harder on the affiliate end and don’t follow forums as much. The problems with BetUS popping up on forums were consistent and came in frequently long before UIGE.April 4, 2007 at 6:24 pm #732993AnonymousInactiveTheGooner wrote:I must get my ARSE along to check out 5Dimes and TheGreek books.Heard a lot of good things about them but never even bothered to take a look – so perhaps it’s time I clicked a link or two …
:hattip:For the affiliate end you might need to follow up with the three. They are kind of how Bodog was a couple years ago. Very selective on affiliates and don’t respond to all applications. It is worth the follow up with each though, especially Bet Jamiaca. Bet Jam’s customer service does a great job with players and has very good retention. The affiliate support is also great with lots of banner sizes, custom banners etc at each once you get your foot in the door. Not great service on the affiliate end until approved.
April 4, 2007 at 10:27 pm #733010MikeyMemberI’m having problem getting accepted into BetJamaica’s affiliate program, submitted my site quite long time ago. Will try giving it another go, *fingers crossed* I’ll get accepted this time round.
Will also give 5Dimes a visit
April 7, 2007 at 3:22 am #733224AnonymousInactiveI got a reply from Carlos on a concern I had in less then a day after I wrote him. A reply and a solution I might add….not too bad in my book.
Complaining about the sportsbooks being slow to pay is not fair and getting old. LOL, we all know problems exist that are beyond most of our control right now.
Hell, I’m just glad I’m still getting paid, I’ll be honest and tell you, in Oct. of 06I didnt think I’d still be bringing in mony in April of 07, less I admit, but still.
Ours is not the only business that has went through a hard time.
To those that have had nervous breakdowns due to our industry taking a big hit, tuffin up, is the only sane advise you’ll ever get. You not the only one who had a business drop off or out, all industries have had it.

I don’t like BetJamaica’s affiliate control panel.
Anyone want to comment on this?
It’s impossible to get proper stats. I wish this wasn’t so, because they come highly recommended.April 14, 2007 at 10:11 am #733927nick777MemberI agree about BetJamaica’s control panel – truly sucks. It seemed geared more from a bookie’s perspective that an affiliate.
Don’t get me wrong – it has an outstanding reputation, especially among players.
I just couldn’t do much promoting it, so I dropped it.
But it is still a quality book.
May 7, 2007 at 2:54 am #735797AnonymousInactiveCan someone let betreturns know that their affiliate website is down… seems like the domain name expired. I’m a little annoyed since I must have sent 100 players over this weekend and I don’t even know if they tracked.
