BetEmpire.com is probably the best software available. SuperiorBook.com uses it too. I know the owner, as well. He’s a software guy instead of your stereotypical bookie type. They are good people.
March 14, 2007 at 5:03 am #730657AnonymousInactivebb1webs wrote:question?: did they have these reputation problems before the new law (in the states) ?You’re pretty much correct in that statement that the UIGEA was the major factor.
Prior to the UIGEA they were owned by SportingBet.com who are pretty ruthless when it comes to affiliates – but at least SportingBet.com do have plenty of cash and they paid ALL players out on time.
In mid-October SportingBet.com sold the SPORTSBOOK.COM brand and US operations to Jazeel Enterprizes (which was most of the previous management team) for the grand total of USD $1 !!!
(and they also said that they trqansferred $13.7m of liabilities …)
Within 2 days SPORTSBOOK.COM was cancelling outstanding winning wagers for players in the 11 states that specifically outlaw gambling !!
From then on slow paying seems to have been endemic – and it seems to me that the new outfit has a huge cash cruch going on – but as a private company they keep all metrics in house – so it’s impossible to bloody tell … other than through player complaints.
…bb1webs wrote:But I DO try and check these things out. Very surprised to find this out about Sportsbook.com, and very unhappy to hear it.thanks all for those who brought this to my attention.
No problem mate – that’s why we share ideas and opinions on this forum – right?
:thumbsup:Like you – I also playtest my places for 3-6 months beforehand – and take in a lot of forum feedback before adding books onto my site.
And even then you do need to keep an eye out and an ear to the ground for the smaller “virtual” outfits. THey run on a very low budget it seems – and sports books can have runs of losses.
:huh:The big European books that also have “bricks n mortar shops” are much easier to monitor though – they’re big publicly held outfits with good reporting – but they don’t accept US players so that does not help you ..
:March 14, 2007 at 7:23 am #730663AnonymousInactiveI take the shortcut:
I go and check out what the Gooner has on his website :hattip:
March 16, 2007 at 4:51 am #730946AnonymousInactiveIt is worth noting that TheGooner’s website focuses around soccer (UK and European traffic) and not the US, which is what the majority of affiliates here are looking for.
Sportsbook.com should ALWAYS pay and play fair, but I am surprised about the post on sportsbook.com as I had a personal account with them a few years ago (no longer, as I decided I am a horrible sports bettor), and when I did and won money they paid promptly.
When Sportingbet sold off sportsbook.com for a pound, this was as a form of transaction, and yes the liablities were carried over, but this should not be a huge concern as sportsbook.com in its own right is a money making machine and 13 million is a drop in the ocean and standard business.
On the european side I work with Bet365, Ladbrokes and Will Hill! But my main money is derived from outside Europe, and my findings reflected this.
Just my two cents, and I still do feel at this stage the companies I suggested are solid one and not too worry about. Other companies I work with include Bodog and BetCris as previously mentioned.
March 16, 2007 at 5:40 am #730948AnonymousInactiveYou’re right I focus on European gambling (legal) as opposed to the US Sports which has always been treated as illegal by the US government.
Even if the UIGEA is repealed look out for Sports Betting being treated as the black sheep – so it’s a questionable (risky?) angle for US based affiliates.
:madat:Up until recently I was covering US players with PinnacleSports (top 10 bookmaker worldwide) but they’ve closed that angle down …
:eh:BoDog and BetCris are both top notch programs according most news sources … and programs that I may include pending playtests and financial review.
:thumbsup:March 16, 2007 at 7:15 am #730949AnonymousInactiveWell, so was VIP :turn:
I have to admit I am new to the sports betting scene (as an affiliate), but I do agree that when it comes to sports betting – legal is the way to go.
Right now, the only sportsbook, casino and poker for USA I can trust and recommend is Bodog. They have proven to rather give the US govrnment the finger, than to back down.
March 16, 2007 at 9:53 am #730957AnonymousInactiveStupid, I agree that sports betting is risky but since this new law passed any affiliates targetting US traffic is at risk. Most of the affiliates here in this forum looking for a new sportsbook are doing so because they have good listed sites for US based terms that will not convert with other traffic.
Even though from previous advice to affiliates to diversify I am making them aware of the options they have if they wish to continue pushing for US traffic.
Consider this – if you target casino and poker players from the US you are at the same risk as targetting sports betting.
Since the US did not comply with the Antigua ruling, making them criminals themselves this gave the government of Antigua power to do things without the US intefering and that is why a lot of sportsbooks have moved their servers or themselves to the island. So online gambling is siffering but here to stay!
March 16, 2007 at 9:58 am #730958AnonymousInactiveOn another note it is worth noting that superior share listed above are great people and use the same software company as Empire, and will do well for all affiliates!
March 16, 2007 at 10:58 am #730961AnonymousInactiveThe affiliates with the high ranking sites do not need to look for sportsbook suggestions – if you have a good ranking website (non-spam), you better at least know which sportbooks are good, wouldnt you agree?
Also, it is not illegal to play at online casinos, but interstate sports betting has been outlawed a long time ago. The non-publicly traded casinos are pulling out because
a.) The software pulled out
b.) They can’t find no one to process their transactions at reasonable cost, not because it’s “illegal” (they didnt care while neteller was around).
You should know that, being so close to VIP’s operations. Which leads me to my other thought:
Exactly one month before VIP shut down, you came here (and on the VIP Forum, as well) and assured all of us that VIP had no intentions of cutting off US players.
Do you think you have the moral ground to suggest US faced sportsbooks?
March 16, 2007 at 3:00 pm #730982AnonymousInactiveI removed Bodog from my site since they only had 1 deposit method for players.
March 16, 2007 at 7:10 pm #731021AnonymousInactiveThe VIP group is one of the most honest in the business and believe me if they could take US players they would.
Face it the US has done a very good job on the money flow both from the players to the casinos and back to the players. The shutdown of Neteller was devastating to everybody in the industry, most expected more time for other processors to evolve.
Don’t dog on Simon because he believed that VIP would continue on taking US Facing traffic as did most of us, the Neteller was an unexpected event just like the passing of the US Law.

March 16, 2007 at 7:19 pm #731024AnonymousInactiveI have not said anything against VIP, I think they did a very good job in retaining players (i.e. good player satisfaction).
However, Simon was one of the few insiders, and when he said that “VIP leaving the US market after Superbowl is laughable”, and a month later VIP actually leaves the US market, I dont think he has the right to come and tell us which sportsbooks wont pull out if the US.
What I am saying basically is that if any of those sportsbooks he suggested pull out of the US within a month – his already shaking reputation will equal to “0”. He could have at least not used aff links in his suggestions…
April 2, 2007 at 6:17 pm #732763PatrickMMemberTheGooner wrote:But Sportsbook.com and BetUS.com are both crappy outfits that are slow paying players and should not be promoted. There are plenty of tales of unpaid punters – they are not valid choices for serious affiliates.Any recent incidents “slow paying” was not intentional. I am not sure if everyone is aware but processors and banking institutions are making it extremely difficult for anyone in the business to process a payout, especially if a bank pulls the plug without notice.
I do receive queries from affiliates about players being slow paid and each one I have followed up with our operation staff who contacted the players and processed the payments via other methods. If anyone has any concerns about players not being paid please PM me and I will work as a liaison between them, you and us.
April 2, 2007 at 10:32 pm #732780AnonymousInactiveFair play to you Carlos … that’s a helpful post.
BUt you also must understand – intentional or not – failing to pay players in a timely manner means that you cannot be recommended by us – and it will take some time to restore the reputation.
Many players don’t have recourse or access to affiliates – and therefore miss out on your personal service – so while it’s helping we have to rate according to mainstream service.
I wish you well in turning around the reputation of BetUS.com mate.
:hattip:April 2, 2007 at 11:34 pm #732789PatrickMMemberCheers Gooner,
Even though you must be an Arsenal fan I will still hold your comment in relatively high regard :p What do I know, I am a Glasgow Celtic fan :1circling
I understand exactly what you say but probably what I should have mentioned is that when we here about these complaints via affiliates, here, the usual forums (RX, SBR, etc) we do act upon them. A lot of the time you here the horror stories and they do get resolved and admittedly sometimes they take time and sometimes you don’t often here this stories.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know we convert really well and we do try to take care of our players and I definitely make sure we take care of our affiliates because that is something I can personally do.
Webmasters on here if you’d like to give us a try then I will throw out the promotional spiel which is 50% earnings in your first month, that’s a good reason to try us.
