    Hello All,

First of all I would like to say that I am very glad a forum like this exists. I do realize the hard work and dedication that it takes to sucseed in this industry. I was inspired by many of the reader’s sites when i saw the effort that was clearly displayed. I hope that my own site will one day get it’s share of hits. Please take a look at my initial site layout. I don’t have anything on here yet, except the main page. I plan on updating it heavily during the next few months. Any comments would be greatly appriceated. I look forward to getting to know everyone here.

    Cheers,
    Joe

If you can carry that dick tracy looking title bar across the entire site it should be okay.

Dick tracy? LOL, I never thought of that. Does that mean you don’t like the title bar?. Do you think it is better to go with a more plain bar? What do you thing of the colour scheme?

    Regards..

Your title says “Learn the Slots”

You will need to have a Slot Tips page, a Slot Myths Page, and a page telling the visitor about 3 reel slots, 5 reel slots, bonus slots, progressive slots, and so forth. I would go so far as to have a slot of the month rather than a casino of the month. You will probably get far more qualified visitors to the casino this way. If you send a player to Golden Tiger (example) to play Major Millions, you have a decent chance that he/she went there for the right reasons.

Casino reviews are important but don’t lose the slot focus. If your site is about slots then give your visitor great info about slots. If well written, an article can arouse curiosity and that is a great plus for the visitor to click the download button.

The free games are great but they won’t give you the conversions you desire. Treat them as a learning or fun tool and even to build a mailing list of players. I have 2 sites that do well in Yahoo and Google for free games and the conversions suck. The sites that I get hits for the slots names e.g. Mermaids Millions, Tombraider, Aztecs Treasure, and so forth have far better conversion rates.

You artwork is pretty and the overall appeal isn’t bad at all. I personally prefer to use a clean and rounded font like Verdana or Arial but thats a personal choice.

A good site format that is easy to navigate really does help. I also like the minimal approach to banners. My players mainly click text links they find at the end of a paragraph about the game or the casino. Very few click banners.

Never forget that over 50% of your visitors are probably going to be female visitors. A nice raunchy site might appeal to a few visitors but a clean, bright and interesting site will surely win the prize.

Only my opinions, certainly not facts :)

Thanks for taking the time to provide such in depth feedback, Brian. All of your advice is great and I will be surly be implementing your suggestions. I agree with you 100% when you say “a clean, bright and interesting site will surely win the prize”. My main intention is to provide a site that will be informative for users and make it interesting enough that they will want to come back. I do need to build my content and that will be my highest priority within the next few weeks. I especially like your point about the games. I will keep the brief personal review of each casino I promote but I will remove the free games and replace it with links to different slot machines with a brief review for each slot machines. The slot tips, myths and explanations are great ideas too and are things that I will defiantly confider. Thanks for your help!

No, I like the banner — I think you need to carry that look through the rest of the site. Don’t forget to put an alt tag on it.

Never put two 468×60 banners immediately next to each other — they compete and cancel each other out. Banners with free offers that are related to the site theme work very well.

I think a primary focus of the main page should be to promote the other sections of your site. You should probably try to work that into the layout.

Yes, I will be putting an alt tag on my image today, thanks for that tip!. I will also be changing the two banners and placing only one on the main page. I am currently working on my slot machine reviews and I plan on getting rid of the “Free Games” section and replace it with the slot machine reviews. After that is completed, I will throw up an article section that pertains to slots. This whole venture is definitly a lot of work, more than I planned on doing. But it is actually a very enjoyable challange and I am definitly learning alot, more than I thought I would. Thanks of your feedback, it is very helpful.

What I like most, which I rarely see is a introduction. Good job in putting a intro in. greek39

I can’t offer any advice better than what has already been given, but what I can say is that you are ASKING for TONS of spam mail by posting your email address right out there on the home page. If your server supports asp or php, I would set up an email form page instead. Like I said, just little thing to save you from a lot of :spam4: in the future.
If your server supports it and you want some assistance implementing it, I’m sure myself or someone here can assist you with it (simple one page script).

Thanks for that great time saving tip, I never thought that I would be setting myself up for spam by doing that. I am going to add that to my “TO DO” list for this site. :hattip:

Hey thanks, I just googled CCS because I did not know what it was and I see you have a good point. I also saw that you are also a new casino affiliate. Do you have a site that is currently under construction? Have you ever been an affiliate on the internet for any industry?
