Ok, the word is got is a generic “we do care about our affiliates” and that he cannot comment further as the deal is not legally closed yet.

Kinda strange, making affiliates jump through hoops changing codes before the deal is even completely closed.

Anyway, that’s all I got folks!

I saw that, and I disagree with it.

I don’t see how we can not hold Party responsible at this point. They have the ability to map over the players — and they are choosing not to. If Party gets away with this, then we will lose our players every time they acquire a program in the future. This is a slap in the face to the affiliates who have worked hard over the years to build up a nice amount of residual income. Party can’t just come along and buy something that doesn’t belong to Empire. The residual income (a percentage of it) belongs to the affiliates — not Empire. Empire is to blame for selling something that didn’t belong to them… but this wouldn’t be an issue if Party would simply map over the players and continue to honor the lifetime contracts.

    Hopefully that made sense.

Ok, I am not at liberty as yet to discuss exactly what The Party CEO is saying to me – we are still talking.

I will tell you though that this is what they are shooting for – us getting caught up in looking who to blame and becoming inert and bogged down and divided.

They are going to play the blaming game and hope it will result in our inertia.

They are both at fault. One sold goods they did not own, the other knowingly bought stolen goods.

It is NOT OUR PROBLEM who is at fault.

What is our problem is that they (both of them) failed to include affiliate claims in their negotiations and deal.

That is the only thing that matters.

True. But at this point in time, what can we do? Party owns the players, and any deposits coming in are being routed to Party. Two things can happen now:

    1) Party can continue to pay residuals.
    2) Empire or Party can buy out each affiliate at a fair, negotiated price.

I don’t see any way around it. Affiliates agreed to promote Empire under a “lifetime” contract — not “until the day someone illegally buys them out from under me without compensation.”

So what do we do now? Obviously their tactic of confusing us by playing the blame game is working — we already have some disagreement about who is to blame. Maybe we need to blame them all, and blacklist them all for engaging in anti-affiliate behavior? I don’t know much about Empire and how they operate, but I have observed a LOT of abuse by PartyPartners over the past year. They’ve stolen casino players in the past (they stole antoine’s (and Dominique’s) players), they couldn’t care less about answering questions here, and they really screwed Empire last year when they stopped allowing them to use the Party skin.

Party has a long history of screwing people. I think it’s finally time to stand up and say “enough is enough.”

What we do is apply lots of pressure so they have to come up with something other than canned legal responses or lose a bunch of money and fare badly with public opinion.

We are able to apply a lot more pressure than we know – or Referback and Fortune would never have given in during the T&C debacle.

Taking the problem public is what we do.

Figuring out the solution is their problem and not ours.

I am more than willing to blacklist/rogue Party as a result of this. I lay the blame squarely on their shoulders. However, we as a community need to decide the best way forward. It would also be good, if we can work with the GPWA membership on this – So as the affiliate community as a whole is singing from the same hymn sheet.

If we allow this to go through unchecked, there are going to be many more unhappy webmasters come the end of 2006. This is just the start of a big consolidation and acquisition drive by many programs.

Many of us, including me, are banned at GPWA.

I am sure they will do the right thing on their own.

Has there been an official memo released about Party not taking on Empire affiliates? IE: have they clearly stated that (I dont do Poker so dont know).

My thoughts are (for what its worth), if this is forthcoming, act by taking it onto the public forums, but not until they have confirmed their stance. Let affiliates decide who to blame in this instance (ie: they can remove Party if they want to), but being in the “public areas” will show anyone else planning acquisition that it will cause a major fuss, at the very least.

    PRnewswire etc etc.

    It worked last year.

    Cheers

    Simmo!

    Dear Affiliates

We have no intention of shortchanging our affiliate relationships. We are putting down our position in a systematic manner here to try and address affiliate concerns.

•Empire Online Ltd. (EOL) had a contractual relationship with PartyGaming, which entitled Empire Online Limited (EOL) to a share of the revenues generated by players who played on the PartyGaming system via Empirepoker.com and/or Aceclub.com.

Empire was basically an affiliate of Party.. call it what you like, but essentially that is what they were.

now with that in mind… in all multi-tiered programs and the way this thing just panned out, it would mean that if I was an affilaite at xyz casino, and signed up loads of sub affiliates and the xyz casino offers to buy my site and all my players – who wouldn’t at the right price, right? That would mean that all those affiliates that signed up under my link would be shit out of luck.
    Makes no sense, right? Exactly.

We were essentially aub affiliates of Empire for Party all along.

Party Partners Certification has been suspended.

If they provide a mechanism to compensate affiliates for the players they had refered to Empire Poker then we will be happy to re-admit them. We really do find this situation very unpleasant and sincerely hope its rectified and that we can all go back to a mutually profitable relationship with PartyPartners and their clients in the very near future.

I do hope they see the light.

Having that press release saturate the Search engines will help.

I posted it in my blog – spidered many times daily and listed under the title of the entry by google. Should not take long.

Please, everyone post that release someplace, or write you own report.
