Party Poker owner PartyGaming and 888 Holdings have reportedly held preliminary discussions about combining their pool of online players, which has been drastically reduced by the removal of the American market.
There’s also a rumour that Ladbrokes are looking at acquiring 888 too. They have publically stated that they are examining the possibility of acquisitions following the UIGEA passing.
Both would be very wise to seek out buyers while they still have a sliver of market value left. Over time their market shares will continue to shrink and their deficit incomes will continue to balloon.
They are trapped in a self imposed death spiral.
