I have been hemming and hawing for months over this and am now to the point where we’re going to have to do something. For over a year, we did an average of $1000 in CPA with Paradise, then 6 months ago or so when they switched to the new aff program all of a sudden, we have make nothing monthly. Every month our stats are the same they look like this:
Merchant Paradise Poker
Impressions 1536
Click-Thrus 419
Click-Thru % 27.3%
Downloads 167
Downloads % 39.86%
Active Accounts 9
Registrations 4
New Registration Deposits $645.00
Purchase Accounts 6
Wager Accounts 6
CPA Accounts 0
Deposits $925.00
Rake $119.64
Deposit to Revenue Ratio 13.0%
Net Revenue $119.64
Total Commission $29.91
Commission (%) $29.91We get 400-500 in clicks, about 40% download ratio, around 4-5 new registrations, approx. $1000 in deposits and end up with under $50 EVERY SINGLE FRICKING MONTH.
Now going from an average of 10 new registrations each month to this (basing that on the EXACT same amount of exposure and over 1 years time) makes me think there’s only one choice, stats aren’t right.
I emailed Stephen a dozen times about this from the 1st month of the switch over. He tried to tell me at first I wasn’t giving him enough exposure, well the clicks have actually increased from 6mos to a year ago, I haven’t moved one link of Paradises in a year.
Then he tried to tell me that he feels Paradise’s market is saturated and therefore not as many signups…..this jump in money happened IMMEDIATELY from the switchover. In Feb. of this year, we had a bad month at 5 new reals resulting in $500, but March til now has produced us under $100 TOTAL.
Now, I’m not a rocket scientist but I can assure you all that something isn’t right here.
I wanted to find out if anyone else has seen a problem like this (It would have to be someone that promoted them as well or better prior to the switch over so you have something to go by.)
Thanks

do a search on Paradise and I think you will see this issue raised a load of times. I have spoken to Stephen about this often as well and now have simply given up trying. We were the same as you… pre-affiliate program we also did the CPA thing with them and averaged something around 10 players a month. Now we have sent them 3 or 4 new players since the switch… I highly doubt that and nobody can ever convince me that something other than their stats is the cause for this.
Also, there are far too many affiliates also moaning about this for them to really still believe that their stats are fine.
I spoke with Stephen in Amsterdam about this and emailed a few times after that and still no change.. I have given up on them completely now.
July 29, 2005 at 7:23 am #669430AnonymousInactiveWell, that pisses me off even more I just got an email back from Stephen saying basically that I’m the only one complaining about this, if I post in their forum, will you be willing to post as well, and anyone else??
July 29, 2005 at 2:34 pm #669438AnonymousInactiveGrrrrrrrrrrr.
What is this, the great Poker shakeout?
I guess it makes sense, it’s a young industry and stats are more complicated and I am about to go live with a new page – and now I hear problem after problem with sites I chose to give exposure to… :unhappy:
July 29, 2005 at 8:00 pm #669445AnonymousInactiveSame her, the Paradise stats is a shame.
I moved them to my frontpage and gave them great exposure and what did that give? 1 more registration for over one month. :hitthefanThis is the worst converting poker program yet. And I was so excited when they opened for new affiliates again :hmmm:
July 29, 2005 at 9:43 pm #669447AnonymousInactiveWell I would like to make a post in the Paradise forum something like “Stephen you told me I was the only one complaining” or along those lines………….Peralis, Waz….will you all post there so we can show there is a problem somewhere?
July 29, 2005 at 10:48 pm #669449AnonymousInactiveI haven’t started promoting them yet, so I am limited to remarks like the previous one…
Ellen, could you make a list of which pokers you tossed and why?
I would really appreciate it, I am just going to give poker a real good push and I of course would like to avoid pitfalls where I can…
July 29, 2005 at 11:14 pm #669450AnonymousInactiveSure, we must have a dialog.

William Hill (tracking sucks and James isn’t even willing to work with me on the tons of members I had signup through my old links even though it’s posted in a thread a mile long who is signed up under us and depositing)
Pokertropolis (they suck every which way)
World Poker Exchange (their affiliate page has disappeared yet they have said for 2-3 months now that the stats are working and we’ll get paid eventually BS)
ThePokerNetwork (PokerClub.com, UPlayPoker.com, Poker World and others) switched affiliate programs and the stats stopped working, they swear the stats are fine…..another one full of shit)
Dynamite Poker now CheckNRaise Poker (another shady one)
Platinum Poker Club (totally screwed us over, won’t give them the time of day)
Golden Palace Poker (still think it’s disgusting they buy baby names and won’t promote them)
About to be tossed:
Bugsy Club (all but pulled them, they have the poker school and you can send 100 players to Bugsys but if 99 sign up at the Poker School, you don’t get a dime)Paradise (I’m slowly tossing) I will leave their tourney schedule up and a few links only cause it’s a pain in the ass for me to reenter all those tourneys. But they went from getting great exposure to getting very little.
On thin ice:
Boss Media and Playtech (still sorting out the stats here…..hopefully they don’t end up on our pulled list)July 29, 2005 at 11:30 pm #669452AnonymousInactivephew!
The only one I was planning to give nice exposure of those was Pacific.
Stephen really sweet talked me in Amsterdam and apparently pulled the wool over my eyes.
I picked very few Playtech, I have never made a penny with their pokers and they bundle their casinos and I am tired of getting wiped out there. Their pokers may not last long.

I didn’t mention them LOL but you must be psychic cause I forgot to, pulled them down a year ago!
July 30, 2005 at 2:08 am #669456AnonymousInactiveAnd you can add Tropics Poker to that list….
July 30, 2005 at 3:14 am #669459AnonymousInactiveTo clarify Tropics, no bad experience, but their backer has pulled out due to disputes with the software developers so it looks like they are closing at month end.
El also forgot EMPIRE…&*%%$#$$@##$%
July 30, 2005 at 1:48 pm #669471AnonymousInactiveWhat did Empire do?
And I mistyped Pacific, I meant Paradise. So what did Pacific do?What bothers me when I look at this that it’s not just a bunch of false starts, which would be expected with a new industry, but it’s a number of the older programs.
It kind of makes you think the industry is not yet off age and you can expect almost anything to happen.
It also seems to me that everyone is diddling around with accounting methods as in Stats, and there is no real good system yet? Surely Playtech seems to be totally messed up, while I haven’t concentrated on poker, every room I listed got players except Playtech.
July 31, 2005 at 1:34 am #669489AnonymousInactiveThere was a thread a mile long here that I did with all the details of what happened with Empire/Pacific via Tradal. That thread disappeared ages ago, maybe Lou knows where it is but I haven’t been able to find it for a year now.
I guess if you can advertise for either through anyone else as long as it has NOTHING to do with Tradal, it may work.
Personally we won’t advertise for either again unless there’s some major changes, we’re paid what’s owed to us (which is a few thousand minimum) and it’s not through Tradal.
