I just got this email……
From: Paradise Poker Marketing [mailto:]
Sent: Wednesday, October 13, 2004 4:42 PM
Subject: Paradise Poker Tracking ID changeDear Affiliate,
As we near the launch of our new affiliate program we will need each of you to make a small adjustment to the tracking link that was provided to each of you when you joined. It should currently look like this:
http://www..paradisepoker.com/index.html?adv_id=xxxx
Our new software is designed to track the referring domain. In order for this to work we ask that you please remove the last half of the tracking link. Please forward all clicks to the following link:
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Unfortunately I do not have a set launch date as of yet, however, once our new software is in place each of you will be notified immediately.
Should any of you still have questions please let me know.
Regards,Steve

Did it ever occur to these guys that sometimes the referrer is BLOCKED by various software? In other words, if you send a player and he has some sort of firewall or other software which prevents the referrer from being sent, you won’t get credit.
Thanks, but no thanks.

like its easier / more accurate for them to track 100 affiliates with 100 sites each instead of tracking just 100 codes … NOT!
Seems their IT crew are hoping that the affiliates are idiots.

Seems like an easy way to save some money by fooling the new affiliates is don’t know about it.

Good bye Paradise :wavey: :rasberry:
November 14, 2004 at 9:37 am #657647AnonymousInactiveI emailed Steve as well as soon as I got his email and he told me since we have so many different sites we could keep the old tracker on. We do VERY well with them so I can’t possibly dump them. He should allow some to stay on the old tracker regardless.
