October 5, 2008 at 5:18 pm #781124AnonymousInactiveI will not post the source since too many people on this forum will twist it anyway. Most are socialist or not even US residents! That’s why Obama campaigned in Europe and said screw the wounded troops.
I you are really interested in Obama’s conections to socialism, then I suggest you Google it – just be prepared!
As for the banking mess, you are correct about all the warnings be given (Bush, Snow, Greenberg, Paulson, McCain, etc) – it’s just too bad the warnings were not listened to and just said BS (Franks, Meeks, Waters, ect). I guess that the bribes were just too much to resist!
Although, I agree that both parties were responsible. But one party was more than the othersOctober 5, 2008 at 5:42 pm #781127AnonymousInactive@bleuze 179248 wrote:

We can agree on this statment.
bleuze wrote:First, I know that I’m not going to win my point. However, just for the record, this all financial mess started with Obama and Acorn in Chicago when they started the bank megers and forced the banks to make sub prime mortgages to the people in the Chicago area.
We can NOT agree on this statment you made earlier in the post.October 5, 2008 at 6:57 pm #781133AnonymousInactiveThis is to the guy who called me lazy, or something for not posting what has been posted 1000 times in here already. If your still interested I took the first three I saw, there are tons more to prove my point and guess what, there are tons more to prove your point. All I am saying is both are guilty, but it was Obamas and that flippin Waters chic that claims she represents me that said FM and FM were not in any trouble when the regulotrory guys in 2004 said they were and if I have to prove that one to you, then your in a box.

If you notice on the who took what thing that i posted here, I think you might see a fair amount on BOTH FRIGGIN SIDES. Here are the first 3 I saw………………………

I don’t know really, I dont even know what to say in here anymore, I guess I should just say the rest to my NA sponser.
Oh for anyone who cares I da the best seats I ever had at a baseball game, they were great, but living in Chicago for 1/2 of my life and being a die hard Cub fan, it was hard to see them go down, but the Dodgers just out played them

Since you think I’m bias I’ll try to break it down in smaller segments for you on my view of why this happened and then tell me if I’m wrong.
The only hate I see around here is those that don’t like the facts, but I’m gonna continue to post them anyway.
HERE ARE THE FACTS:
Home owners that got in over their head are now facing foreclosures at a rate of 10,000 a day.
Loans were bunched and sold to institutions (insurance companies, banks, etc.).
The loans were very complex and broke up and sold to investors.
The banks, insurance companies and those investing money from pension funds, etc. snatched up the instruments because thier balance sheets depened on showing high profit.
Housing prices dropped and folks stopped paying.
Negative equity occurred in the homes and folks abandonded them because homeowners were allowed to get the loan they had with NO MONEY down.
Homeowers stopped paying and the credit insurers went bankrupt.
This is what put the economy at risk.
This could have all been avoided as it’s happened six (6) times in the past, but not as bad.
Congress supported Freddie and Fannie who bought the weak loans and started cooking the books and got caught in 2004.
John snow – the then current treasury warned us – 9/10/2003
Alan Greenspan warned us in 2/24/2004These guys got money out of the Freddie/Fannie deal:
NY – Charles Schumer – Dem
CT – Chris Dodd – Dem
UT – Robert Bennet – RepMcCain $21,550 – Rep
DId I miss anything?

HERE’S a link to a British Newspaper website that ran an opinion piece that I thought gave a pretty good description of why this is a subject that all of us are right to be interested in…

Of course everyone has a bias (even Bleuze). So does every journalist, newscaster, newspaper & media outlet . Everyone here is just expressing their opinion on why they support a particular candidate. It’s nobody’s responsibility to present the other sides facts or perspective. Debates wouldn’t be much fun to watch if a candidate made the other one’s argument for him/her. If you read through the last days worth of posts I think you’ll see almost everyone has said that both political parties share blame for this financial mess. No one here has shown “hate” towards conservatives. Just a fundamental disagreement on the crucial issues our country faces.
p.s. Hope you enjoyed the game! Nothing like good seats at a ballgame! It’s great to see the Cub’s being competitive the last couple years. I went to see 4 Tigers games this year & they lost all 4 of them. Now I get to enjoy the Lions :1Dopey:
October 5, 2008 at 8:44 pm #781148AnonymousInactiveSorry Buddy, now you’re way off base. The fact that you don’t agree with us doesn’t make us any more bias than i think you and Richard are. If you somehow think that you’re the only sane man in an insane world – Get over yourself, you aren’t.
I originally was worried that people were giving you a hard time for no reason. I’ve since seen you post the same hateful, sarcrastic, innuendo that you have claimed the other side is doing to you.
Go ahead no make yourself holier than all others. Frankly, i’m disappointed that you turn into the ass you claimed us to be, because we don’t agree with you.
You want to bitch, you want to whine, welcome to the thread, that seems to be the way most of us here wanted to fight it out.
If you’re too good to be here… Well don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Yea, but I thought this was the year of the Cub lol, I mean a hundred years and all, 2008 baby. I even wrote an article on my website andI’m no writter, on why the cubs were going to win it this year.
I went through that 10 game lead they blew in Sept of 1969 when the Mets won. I still remember the headlines saying something like. Man landing on the Moon, and Mets winning the world Series, which is the bigger miricle lol
Oh well theres always 2108 I guess. It was cool though even though we lost , to see the crowd just go wild, :capmiami: my first playoff game. Of course, as in here I’m sitting next to the guy trying to be Mr Dodger fan of 08  But we all ended up  after the game, minewas an ice tea.

Ha! I thought this was the year of the Tiger :flush: Do you have a link to the article? I’d be interested in reading it. No worries about things getting heated, political discussions always end up that way at some point. :hattip:

October 5, 2008 at 9:56 pm #781162AnonymousInactiveInstead of posting all the cons for each candidate why not post why you like the candidate?
For me I usually go with the smartest of the bunch, in this case Obama. I feel that a smart person is apt to ask more questions. I felt Kerry was smarter even though many didn’t like his personality over Bush’s.

that’s right. I’M A COMMUNIST damn it! i wear a red star pin, pray to lenin before i go to bed, smoke cuban cigars, and drive a lada from 1975…
seriously bleuze, you can’t be serious with that statement. just because somebody doesn’t agree with you doesn’t make them a socialist or a communist or whatever.
are you going to call me a terrorist too? for undermining your opinion?
as for other people giving a damn to what happens in YOUR country, let me put it in perspective. just because you don’t care to what happens outside your “land of the free”, doesn’t mean that the rest of us want to live in a similar informational bubble and pretend that we are the “center of the earth” and nothing else matters. maybe its you who got the big picture wrong? could that be a possibility?

mate, wake up and smell the coffee! was there anybody here that said anything about your faith? i presume you are christian, but i surely don’t remember anybody dissing your God or anyone else’s. unless your god is mccain.
furthermore, nobody hates conservatives. its just that nobody likes people who display limited amount of intelligence (current administration) and presidential nominees who are not too smart (fill in the blank). i personally believe that democrats and republicans are both the same. they are just painted different colors to have people believe that there is democracy, when in fact there isn’t. both parties function and vote predominantly the same.
on the other hand, the democrats have been a bit more “noble” in their pursuit of power during these elections. cant say the same for republicans.
but please stop branding people as communists, socialists, terrorists when they disagree with your opinions. that’s quite weak and makes your argument look impotent.
