It’s getting tougher all the time to find advertising for online gambling related sites. I just recieved this e-mail from Overture posted below.
Dear Overture Advertiser,
We wanted to let you know that, by the end of April, Overture’s U.S. marketplace will no longer accept nor distribute listings for online gambling sites. Online gambling sites are those that have online gambling as their central theme. One example is sites that accept wagers or payments in exchange for the chance to win prizes. Another example is sites that offer both information related to online gambling and links to online gambling sites.
While we understand that this decision impacts your business, we must take this step to be consistent with the policy of our new parent company Yahoo!, which stopped accepting online gambling banner advertising in 2002.
We thank you for your business and wish you success in the future.
Sincerely,
Overture Services

I expect Google adwords to follow suit as well.
April 3, 2004 at 2:42 pm #647387AnonymousInactiveHey Lou,
I am believe the same will take place. What I am concerned over most is the regular search listings for gambling terms to filtered in the future by Google, Yahoo, and other US search engines. I don’t actually believe this will happen, but I never thought there would be a day Overture would drop the extrememly profitable gambling site advertisers.April 3, 2004 at 7:57 pm #647402AnonymousInactiveI wonder how this affects overture site match, the new paid yahoo listings.
I have bought many spots in there.
April 3, 2004 at 8:38 pm #647403AnonymousInactiveOr is this supposed to be the new way we get included? Our new payperclick? Because site match has a payperclick function too.
April 4, 2004 at 2:13 pm #647438vladcizsolMemberMost likely Site Match will reject Gambling Related Keywords. If this is the case i hope we get refunds.
The worst case scenario would be that Site Match “accepts” the listings and takes our money while overture and the Yahoo network do not display the gambling listings.
I am concerned that this may be whats happening as the listiings I have in site match via Overture have NOT been getting traffic and my account balance has been frozen for weeks….
