A few weeks ago I received an email from Affiliate Lounge
This email if for a Dutch football world cup betting site (so obviously traffic is not continuous):
Dear affiliate,
We are writing to notify you that your account has been inactive for the past 6 months (has not generated a minimum level of activity / new depositing players).
Under rule 7.9 of our terms and conditions the Company reserves the right to set limits for a minimum level of activity on Affiliate’s accounts and to terminate any agreement not reaching the limit.Consequently our Affiliate Agreement is now being terminated. Your October and remaining unpaid commission will be paid out early November and your account will be permanently shut down on November 1st, 2013. You will not be eligible to earn or receive Commissions after the effective termination date.
Regards, Affiliate Lounge
No pre email asking if we can work something out etc, just closed.
Spoke to Alison today and she told me they can decide on what level of activity they seem fit.
7.9 The Company reserves the right to set limits for a minimum level of activity on Affiliate’s accounts. Such minimum activity levels will be continuously reviewed and the Company reserves the right to terminate any agreement not reaching the limit. Such limit shall not be unreasonably high and reflect the intention of avoiding accounts where the revenue does not cover the Company’s internal costs for maintaining the account and the payout procedure.
Something to think about

Or, was it never noticed, and now that the ‘economy’ is a little different they are handing out cans of whoopass all over the shop to cut costs, and make more themselves.
Paying affiliates is considered ‘costs’ I am sure.
Paying the affiliates some respect however is apparently a little too much to ask.
