You would expect that online sales will be on the increase for a couple of reasons:
1) The sheer convenience of shopping from home, and having things dropped off at your
door step;
2) Saves time and money (gas) over driving to a brick and mortar establishment;
3) More and more people are going online, and feeling more comfortable making
purchases online;
All that said, I believe that online PLUS B&M sales combined are not all that robust, given the current state of the economy. It really all point to one thing – JOBS. With some many people out of work, spending is obviously going to languish some.
