My apoligies to Classics for both my recent bad temper and cockiness. I was, in fact, basically saying what Fergie was kind enough to sum up. I just may not be the best at conveying it. I also just used. CN because, well I dont know, I wanted to. In retrospect you are correct. The absense of the .com would hurt a little. As would the addition of the 1 at the beginning. I still dont feel that online-casino.com is worth more than a few bucks but after reading Classics most recent comments on SEO I no longer doubt he knows of what he speaks. Again – Classics – I hope you’ll accept my apoligy. And thanks for that Fergie.

To what Fergie said, and perhaps some will think it nitpicking but I don’t think so, the point is, yes, you can rank srserdyf.com well for anything, but it would certainly be easier, to *some* degree, to rank online-casino.com for an online casino search than srserdyf.com
Which goes back to my earlier point, the more an entity knows about this field, the more the domain name would be worth. That may just mean $251 to $250, but still, the domain name offers one piece of algorithmic “stuff” that could be used to your advantage.
May 8, 2004 at 2:57 am #649006AnonymousGuestIt sure would be nice to know just how much advantage having a keyworded domain is.
By comparison, is a good keyword domain name worth, say 200 good back-links, or what. I’m sure it’s worth something alright.
I started off going for branding, but it’s hard to know if that’s an advantage or a disadvantage in the online gambling market. With so many casino-related sites, it’s an uphill task to effectively brand a portal these days.

++++++++++++Alot, especially since the net is getting more competitive and since exact match keyword domains are limited.

I think we’ve done that. I gave my honest opinion concerning the value of the domain name. I think it’s worth $250, and that’s pushing it. I would not pay a penny more.

I agree, but the domain still has some value… even if it may be $250.

+++++++++++++++++++After a brief hiatus, I heard back from the buyer.
He affirmed his offer of $140,000 –and even named a specific escrow agent he’d like to use.
I am inclined to accept his offer, but I am going to sleep on it.

You have nerves of steel, Daddyhalbucks.
May 10, 2004 at 1:00 pm #649085AnonymousInactiveIt looks like I will accept his offer.
Agreements are being drafted.

+++++++++++++++It’s a requirement.
If you want to be successful, you have to be able to blaze your own trail.
The “experts” not are just occasionally wrong –they are frequently wrong.
May 12, 2004 at 12:58 am #649163AnonymousGuestWell I got a nice fat cheque in the mail for a domain name. Nothing like 175,000, but 4 figures, which is always nice to have.
I won’t disclose the domain name, for privacy issues, but it has nothing to do with casinos!
May 16, 2004 at 7:32 pm #649285AnonymousInactivewell ive just obtained onlinecasino.fr and online-casino.fr for
38 euro’s each.lets start the bidding at $50,000 shall we.
May 16, 2004 at 8:37 pm #649290vladcizsolMemberIs that 50,000 Francs, Euros or Dollars?
Would we have to wear a Beret when we work on the domain?
May 16, 2004 at 8:59 pm #649291AnonymousInactiveif you’ve got 50,000 francs stashed away somewhere prof then
you have my deepest sympathy that currencies been defunct
for sometime.(replaced by the euro).if i was to let these priceless gems go for a mere 50,000 dollars
then you would be expected to wear the beret and a string of onions around your neck as well as the obligatory striped shirt .May 16, 2004 at 9:07 pm #649292AnonymousGuestOriginally posted by steve
