The demand is there for good domains, but certainly not for good domain names. online-casino.com is worth something. online-casino-zz.com is worth nothing.

+++++++++++++++Oh, yea! I was a big fool to turn down yesterday’s offer of $55,000.
What do you think my name is, SonnyButtBoy? Or, am I the eponymous DaddyHalbucks?
Today the offer was increased to $120,000.
I am still holding out for $175,000.
I was just kidding .. hence the big smile.
I’m impressed!!
Most of us thought you’d be lucky to get a tiny fraction of that price.
Looks like you are proving us wrong.
Here’s to you …

+++++++++++++++++++++It didn’t happen overnight.
I have been doing domains full time for 5 years. The first few years were lean.
I have owned the subject domain for approximately 3 years.
And, I have also had quite a few disappointments in my business.
Last, despite the size of my portfolio at 4300+ names, it will be my biggest deal to date –by far.
April 30, 2004 at 8:57 pm #648640AnonymousGuestAhhhh.
I doubted because this thread is so new. Seemed to go from for sale to huge offers overnight.
I stand corrected!
I hope you get what you’re asking and it looks like you will. It’s good news for us domain name holders.

$175,000 for a domain name in today’s market?
Outstanding!

+++++++++++++++++++++++I happened to know who to approach. That cuts down on alot of wasted time.
May 1, 2004 at 3:56 pm #648678AnonymousInactiveI think the domain market had dropped, but it’s still there. It can take a long time to sell a domain, but if the right people are approached and it’s the right name, you can still make a pretty penny.
I haven’t personally made much yet but I’ve done okay. (no my acsr.com didn’t sell :p )
I did sell a domain to the president of Afternic once (Roger?) …
Just last week I sold http://www.heartbeat-of-evergreen.com for $150
(two hyphens) … If I had thought about it , I probably could have gotten more… not sure who it is yet… but I bet it’s a chevy dealership.
who’d a thunk?

May 6, 2004 at 1:02 am #648881AnonymousInactiveNegotiations have stalled.
It’s time to make some more inquiries.
Perhaps my colleagues can advise me of the top half dozen most prominent online casino operators..
May 6, 2004 at 1:10 am #648882AnonymousInactiveI’ve discussed this with some casino operators and they are baffled that anyone would offer what you’re claiming. Most of them could purchase established casinos with a decent player base for 300k.
May 6, 2004 at 1:35 am #648883AnonymousInactiveexactly right antoine …
no surprise “negotiations have stalled”
I surmise he was shilling tring to create interest where none existed – Ive said all along what it was worth – I stand by my word!

++++++++++++++Well, either I am a liar, or the other posters are right and the search engines have become hyper-competitive for the keyword phrase “online casino” and people see great value in being able to extract this targetted traffic.

++++++++++++++That is false, and I have the emails to prove it.
