OK, I hate spending, I hated the dam TARP the republicans forced down on us, and now were doing even worse with this bail out garbage.

There is soo much waste its sick, and stuff they don’t call waste wont stimulate crap but certain people pet projects and wallets. We were promised 5 days of online viewing of any bill before signed, and promised someone going over each spending package with a scalpel. Well those are in the works after we spend a few trillion first because its another “Emergency”

Ever go to the car dealer and get told you need to but this today because tomorrow is too late? If you bought it then you know how that’s only used to sucker you into a bad deal without thinking about it.

We keep shoveling new debt onto the country and for what?

Is it a good idea to use all your credit cards when your a little down in the household hoping tomorrow is better or is it best to stop spending on things that are not absolutely required and get your family through it? same deal but these people are idiots.

Did you vote for huge deficit spending? Whatever happens I hope the country doesnt have to pay for 20 years.

The huge explosion in the deficit is and will continue to be primarily the fault of a looming depression. In the 30’s they cut spending, raised taxes, in japan they dealt with their depression in the 90s/00s by spending in fits and starts and it didn’t do well.

The primary idea here, is to do something different from the 30’s and Japan’s 90s. While your concern over this increase to national debt is reasonable, the general world consensus is that Europe and japan will have to go much deeper in debt than the US. Relatively speaking, the US will still have less debt than the rest of the world. Cold comfort, it’s still owed money.

The Scalpel thing? Well just because conservatives think it’s “waste” to spend money on contraceptives, parks, healthcare, etc, certainly doesn’t mean that the democrats agree in anyway, hence not cut.

If the white house is guilty of anything, it’s the failure to clearly admit that half the “Stimulus” is really Relief/Welfare. I’m not sure that the reluctance to increase social programs that was dominant in the last 30 years, is still as strong given the economic chaos of today.

I would appreciate it if the Democrats stopped screaming “stimulus” and just make the arguments as to why they’re providing healthcare to 50 million people for $140 Billion, why they’re sending the states billions for shoring up their budgets, schools, etc. I’m not against their agenda, but the most important CHANGE America sought, was that a little honesty enter into our society, starting with the people running things in DC.

And the looming scare is they plan to address a bad debt bail out packacage after this is all done on top of the current TARP, and this social package.

Its like deciding if you need a new car or if you should spend $1200 on a new tranny for the old one. You decide its best for a new tranny today. Then next week you break a tie rod. Well you invested 1200 last week so another $300 is worth it. Then next week the exhaust falls off.. well we spent 1500 on this thing whats another $200… on and on..
