I tried to log into Party Poker to pick up some new creatives and so forth about 3/4 weeks ago. No go. Very odd I thought because windows remembers the passwords?

Gave it a few days in case it was a minor problem, tried again, no go. Clicked the forgot password button and submitted info. No answer. Did this 2 or 3 times over a 2 week period. No answer. Mailed affiliates @ party poker. Finally received answer that sorry, account disabled and that account inactivity had led to this. I know that. Up to few months ago I had nothing and in the last couple of months, only 5 sign ups.

I don’t pretend to have the best poker sites. They are pretty average actually. I have a reasonable number of Prima Poker players because for some reason, my optimisation has worked here and there for that term. I have picked up a few active players at Caribbean Sun too. I get maybe about 70 uniques per day between my 2 poker portals. As I said, nothing great. Not 1 visitor is purchased though, all come via google/yahoo/MSN etc

But I tell you what, 1 month ago it was 60 uniques and the month before that 50. I add new content as I go and the search engines love that. I improve my SEO, the search engines love that too.

So this method of chasing guys away as they begin to grow and show some sort of form makes no sense to me. Especially where that person had you on the FRONT PAGE of BOTH their websites. They tried to get the players but apparently trying, learning, and growing is not good enough?

I only have 4 words that say it all

    I am bitterly disappointed

My poker sites (Party removed over the last 3 or 4 days)

This isn’t an isolated issue, many webmasters at the GPWA have reported similar account closures. I’m really confused as to what would provoke this. The fact that this affiliate had even 1 real sign up should be enough for his account to remain active. I was under the impression that affiliates were paid for the lifetime of a player’s account. If you delete affiliate accounts that have players signed up, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that you’re doing this to avoid paying residuals.

I’m simply shocked that you would ruin the great reputation that Party Poker has earned over the years to save a couple of dollars. I really dont want this poker room’s reputation to slide like that of your casinos. I dont think anyone wants that. It’s impossible to promote star luck casino, planet luck, or whatever without getting complaints from old players. I really would like for Party Poker to avoid player and WEBMASTER issues.

    Hi Satya

I really do want to promote Party Poker and will mail you my details.

Please though, would you clear one REALLY BIG worry up for me and I am guessing, for a few other webmasters too.

Recent google updates have seen sites plummet for first place to nowhere. New filters and penalties simply destroying past results.

In this instance, what will the effect be if a webmaster has a few active players making him say $100 to $200 per month. The webmaster steadily acquires more players and suddenly falls from grace with google. After a few months of low/no traffic, Party Poker suddenly close the account due to inactivity.

This is in line with Antoine’s reply and is in fact backed up by an actual occurance where a webmaster with active accounts earning him a few hundred $$$ per month had his account suspended “due to inactivity”.

If you can categorically state that a sign up of a player is a sign up for the full life of that player and that iGlobal won’t simply delist the affiliate if his performance is less than sparkling, then you will go a LONG way in settling fears some webmasters may have.

I guess this explains why I couldn’t log in either. I actually sent about 3 or 4 real players to partypoker about 9 months ago. Had a balance of about $5.00 last month.

For them to close my account is just outrageous!

I’d like to hear the answer to this too. I send them some traffic and make a little every month with the poker room.

and ya Ant. I’d not touch the casinos either. And ya, I don’t want to see the poker room fall from grace either.

Just curious … will the affiliates who had their accounts deactivated retain their previous player base?

Also – when are you shipping out those T-Shirts :D

We do and will honor our commitment of paying affiliates for the lifetime of the player.

Normally, only those accounts get deactivated where there has been no activity at all in the past 3 months. This is a routine exercise. However, an account which has player activity should stay very much live.

If you feel that your account has been erroneously deactivated, and you are unable to receive a response from [email protected], please direct your queries to [email protected] and we will ensure a prompt response and reopening of your account within 48 hours.

    Thanks,
    Satya

    Hi Satya

I need to comment here and to say thank you for your e-mail. There does seem to be a bit of a lack of clarity when it comes to describing the word “inactivity”.

I wrote to you after the above post to say that I could never guarantee new active players in a 3 month period, I simply don’t have that kind of power and that as a result, I wouldn’t like to live in fear of being suspended again. The result, no more Party Poker on my sites.

Your reply cleared it up though and I will, ASAP return you to my sites :D

According to your mail to me, Inactivity would include the lack of refering even visitors to the Party Poker site. I average about 150 clickthru’s, per program I advertise, each month, so I feel sure that you will never feel a need to suspend me again. The fact that you suspended the account in the first place thus confuses me. Perhaps you would consider asking your account managers to please keep this in mind before they whip a password away and leave a webmaster feeling angry or hurt. This obviously doesn’t just go for me, but for a number of other webmasters too.

Again, thanks for clearing it up and I look forward to a better future with you and iGlobalmedia.

Same situation for me except that I keep getting either no reply or the reply is just my account details with my account still “inactive”

    I finally just gave up.
