Got this per email today… Does this affect affiliates living in Nordrhein-Westfalen as well?
July 10, 2008 at 6:10 pm #772485AnonymousInactiveWhat’s Nordrhein-Westfalen up to? Did they pass a law I missed?
July 10, 2008 at 6:20 pm #772486AnonymousInactiveFirst no smoking in pubs.. now this..
July 10, 2008 at 6:27 pm #772488AnonymousInactiveLol! No smoking, no gambling – it’ll take a prohibition of beer to mobilize the masses though!

Especially in Germany :roflmao:
All jokes aside though.. I do not have a player account and am wondering why I got this email. Are affiliates affected too? As long as we do not target Nordrhein-Westfalen…
July 11, 2008 at 12:59 pm #772565AnonymousInactiveBanning football would get the masses worked up! While we are talking sportsbooks does anybody know if Will Hill is accepting German players? I know Ladbrokes stopped accepting them. :hattip:
July 11, 2008 at 5:41 pm #772597AnonymousInactiveWill Hill does not accept German players either.
July 14, 2008 at 11:38 am #772737DanmanMemberThanks for raising this issue. We wrote to all applicable customers last week as per the email you have seen.
We will appeal the region’s ruling as we believe it contravenes European law, although this will take time.
I can confirm that the ruling does not apply to affiliates based in that territory, but will of course apply to any local players you have brought in. As for the rationale behind you receiving the email, my guess is that you once set up a test account. Alternatively, we could well have run a script of all of our databases to pull off the details of those on it based in Nordrhein & Westfalen.
Thanks,
Tom
