In a little-publicized but significant university study, it was demonstrated that there is no connection between the Internet and problem gamblers. This goes against one of the main arguments made by lawmakers trying to keep online gambling unregulated. Read more here.
There will always be problem gamblers, regardless of whether gambling takes place on the Internet or not. If you want to ban Internet gambling because of this, then let’s shut down all OTB, land-based casinos, state-run lottery systems, horse tracks, etc. as well.
