I work in a sportsbook before. We get most percentage on a list from real player.. maybe.. 10-15 percent sign real money sign ups.. We used also a list from a CD that bought by our boss.. maybe we send out 10k mail outs in US alone.. and maybe we only get 2-6 percent real money sign out.. and we filter the list also base on their work, place and business background.

I would say that question has already been answered and that those are good figures for an email campaign.
I tried email once sending out to only people that had opted in thru my sites and for all my troubles, only about 7% even bothered to open the emails and out of that I think I got about 2 click-thrus.
Of course being first time and all, those figures are not always going to be that bad but they were sooooo bad, that I thought there was way too far to travel before seeing any kind of signifigant number changes; and gave up on it for a while. Later on I tried buying a list and nearly lost my hosting because I got accused of spamming by about 3 people.
Crap anything after that I’d have considered it a success just if I didn’t get accused of spamming *hopefully I will never know because I’ve never sent anything out since and hope I don’t get desperate enough to ever need to try again.
Congrats on your endeavor. I would suggest you feel lucky and successful, not too mention you didn’t get any spam complaints.
