Hi Everyone – just thought it was about time I said Hi… been lurking for a while now, I think this is a great board and plan to spend a bit more time here.
I’m new to the affiliate webmaster stuff (although not new to the industry), but there is plenty about site promotion that I don’t know about… hence, the spending of time at cool sites like this
I’ve just put my website up about a week ago (http://www.BonusTracker.com) and the visitors are slowly starting to trickle in (emphasis on the slowly part). I’ve got a plan though, I’m starting to get linked on a couple of quality sites, and can’t wait for the search engines to pick me up (lol), have a budget to set aside for advertising (most likely CPA) and having had the site up for a week or so already can see what needs improvement, so doing a bit of a redesin over the next couple of days.
Anyway… I do have a couple of questions for you – since I plan on doing a bit of paid advertising, I’m keen to know some average figures that you guys have come up with (from anyone who will tell me, I realise some (if not all) of you may not want to give this info up… so I’m not going to think badly of you if you don’t)
The kind of things I’m interested in finding out are:
1. Average player worth (I’ve read somewhere that this is about $100 – which sounds about right to me… any vast objections to this figure?)
2. Average Poker player worth (I’m guessing that this will be lower than a casino player, but really don’t know)
3. Conversion rates – putting it simply, I’d like to know the number of unique hits to your site that result in 1 real player signup (I realise this is both highly dependent on the focus of your website, and the conversion rates of individual casinos… but any info would be helpful)… are we talking 100 visitors = 1 real player, 1000?, 10000? – for a site that doesn’t auto send visitors via popups, is 800 per 1 real player unrealistic?
I think that’s about it – not asking for much am I lol
Anyway, like I said, I realise this is very personal info that you might not want to give up, but if anyone feels kind hearted today and wants to help out a newbie, you can email me on [email protected] if you don’t want to post here.
Thanks.

June 4, 2003 at 2:50 am #639153AnonymousInactive$100.00 is very low. My site generally see’s $300.00 per month per player. Also most of my player stay at least 5 to 6 months. As for poker I don’t know any #. conversion rate depend on how good you traffic is. I have 1 player per 200 vistits before but I have also bought 25000 hit and only converted 1 before. Hope this help out.
June 4, 2003 at 3:11 am #639154AnonymousInactiveemg35 – I assume you’re talking about the site in your profile (http://www.gpcasino.com), which is a bit more focused than an affiliate site like I’ve got (since there’s an extra step involved, needing to drive the traffic to a site like yours in the first place).
Still insightful information though, thanks… gives part of the picture at least – something to think about.
Had a look at your site – looks nice.

I had two portal site that I promoted before I took the Private label route. All the info I gave you was the same with these sites. At the time I ran those sites I was learning the trade and my site design and advertising was bad to say the least. But my players loses when I got players was about the same. They also stayed about the same amount of time. One bit of advise affiliate yourself with casinos that keep players playing. A little bit of research go’s along way.
June 4, 2003 at 11:18 pm #639156AnonymousGuestHey, just a few comments:
Don’t forget that conversion rates also depend on the source of traffic.
For example, there are tons of programs that offer “1 million Hits” to your website, but these hits are either cgi generated or annoying pop-ups at non gambling sites….
On the other hand, a highly ranked site in a good search engine for a gambling related keyword, like “online casino gambling” will tend to generate a higher conversion ratio.
I would suggest staying away from traffic purchasing, unless its really cheap or highly regarded….(and by this , I mean you will have to do your homework to make sure you’re not getting shanghaied)
There are few reliable sources of gambling traffic, and these few are expensive and kept under wraps by casino promoters….Why would everyone make posts about a great traffic program? This would potentially damage their own business….So don’t expect people to jump right out there with quality traffic buys….
