Pittel moves to Chief Executive post, appoints Ali as Secretary General
October 6, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — The European Sports Security Association (ESSA) — a body committed to legal and responsible sports betting by keeping sport clean and free from insider betting or bet rigging and manipulation — has announced top management changes.
David Pittel is taking up the post of Chief Executive, appointing Khalid Ali as Secretary General. Ali will be responsible for managing and promoting ESSA’s interests with European and international organizations and regulatory bodies. He was previously Account Director for Corporate Communications at Weber Shandwick, and is experienced in public relations and public affairs, working with a variety of international companies and political institutions.
“We are very pleased to have Khalid join us at ESSA. He brings a tremendous set of skills that will be incredibly valuable in helping us establish ESSA as the guardian of sports integrity,” said Pittel.
ESSA’s membership includes major European sports betting companies such as Bwin, Expekt, Unibet, Party Gaming, Sportingbet, Interwetten, and Betbull, and the organization has the support of the European Betting and Gaming Association.
