InactiveBeats me, I still haven’t received approval to even enter the site.
:hmmm:

InactiveWell, if there is nobody minding the shop and no one has access to admin we need to move.
There is an unused bulletin board sitting around on Dean’s server. I suggest we move over there until we can figure out what happened to Craig.
Then again, one could start an association out of here if the professor sees fit to alot space…
Or? But having a place that has no admin isn’t going to work.

I am begining to believe the rumor I heard from an Aff Manager that the new org was just a diversion to get the heat off Cindy. This Aff manager talks to many of the principles and swore that Craig and Cindy were still working together and they had hoped to eventually bring the two groups together. [/quote]Let me assure you that this is very unlikely.Quote:I dismissed it at the time I heard it as probable bullshit, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Also as soon as the ruckus died down and GPWA was no longer under constant fire then the new org was basically left to die out having served its purpose.Does anyone have any information that would run counter to this?
I will vouch for Craig. I do not have any information that would indicate that the “rumor” is true or false – but I also know that Craig does not want to be seen as the leader, nor does he want any official role in the organization as yet.
My presumption is that the people who have signed up there need to keep throwing out ideas and discussing things without his presence – if he feels that his presence is “required” then that does not bode well for a new organization without him being required to play a role in it.
It is the same reason I don’t post much either – I’ll throw out ideas for discussion but I am highly unlikely to commit to any firm role in the organization.

InactiveI too say there’s NO WAY that is possible.
If it were true, then Cindy and Craig win the Oscar for sure with their spats on WOL and the GPWA public forum when he first posted the idea of the new forum!December 19, 2003 at 3:19 pm #642780Anonymous
InactiveCindy and Craig win the Oscar
Hah! I don’t know about Craig, but Cindy gets a whole slew of Oscars from me for her performance when she planned and executed my expulsion. Very well thought out, meticulously planned and a super performance. Definitely worthy of several Oscars.
I don’t know if the prof is right or not – but I consider it a possibility. The chain of events fits.
However that may be, the organization is floundering because nobody wants to lead. It needs a leader. Someone needs to be elected temporary leader. At the very least, someone in Britian needs to scout out what it takes to incorporate as a non profit group. Without that info there is no progress.
December 19, 2003 at 8:54 pm #642785Anonymous
InactiveThere does not need to be a temporary leader – there needs to be a group of people in there talking about what needs to get done, what they want the new organization to do, etc.
As long as it’s silent, that’s it. If you guys want to see this thing work then you need to take the initiative and keep things going – don’t expect Craig to pick up the slack as he is quite busy, perhaps busier than most of us, and also has his mind on upcoming things.
I am happy to participate but I too have a slew of things I must get done and I cannot do much in the way of initiating things at present. Hell, I don’t even post in many of the forums that much anymore.

InactiveI see it as all said. If I could think of anything else to say – you know me – I’d be shooting off my mouth.
We all know what we think it should be like, who can be in it, how it should be run. It’s all there.
So what else do you want to talk about? People want in but there is no admin to let them in because Craig went missing.
The whole thing has stalled because all the questions are answered and there is nobody to act.
It drives me nuts, but I am not going to be the one doing that.

MemberMaybe after the holidays peoples interest levels will rise enough to foster further action and discussions.
I think maybe everyone is so tied up with projects and holidays that a new orgranization no matter how much it’s needed will get the back burner for now.
The rumors are probably just that, rumors. The Aff Manager who told me this had recently pulled out of GPWA and was pretty aggravated with them so this may be a swipe at them and not necessarily based in truth.

InactiveIMHO you can’t have 37 regged members and only half a dozen doing the input (ok maybe 7 haven’t been approved).
Sometimes you gotta give without expectation of receiving.
Crais is not in cohorts with Cindy and petty rumours like this do little to help. That is if you want to help.
Why another webmaster organisation? Do you need it?
No you don’t NEED it.
Is it intended to upsurp the GPWA/slap Cindy?
No it is not. It should to all intents and purposes be able to succeed where the GPWA failed. ie. A cohesive group minus a Hitler head figure.
Then WHY?
Because a group of like minded people willing to DO things for the betterment of all is a good thing…isn’t it?
If not, then earn your $$$, rub your hands in glee then suddenly discover you are still not happy. Money is not everything and can be analogised by the guy in the middle of the sahara with a million in a suitcase but no water to drink. At least he has an endless supply of toilet paper on hand.

InactiveI never got approved. heh…. btw Dean agree with ya’ 100% about toiletpaper analogy.

InactiveBy now, those of you who hadn’t yet been approved should now be okay to enter
Professor, there is only one likely aff manager that fits your description LOL. In any case, he/she was ill-informed and 99.9% not based in truth.
Do not expect anyone, especially Craig, to step forward and lead the pack right now. There is still a need for open discussion and open-mindedness, and any discussion about temporary or permanent leaders is not only premature, it may actually detract from the discussion.
Besides, Craig is very busy – everything is okay but he hasn’t been online much lately because of other happenings.

InactiveThank you spear.
Admin needs to be around to let people in.
It is vital I think that people are let in when they ask to be.

Most people that want in are in – there were only 4 in the queue, including Pitboss_igg.
Craig’s presence is not vital. Everyone’s participation is, however.
