Well I received an email from Henry Ruuskanen, introducing himself as the new Vegas Affiliates manager. I’ve been amazed at how this new “affiliate manager” has ingratiated himself to me. I’m sure you will love working with him:
JUNE 23rd
Hi Fred,
I’m the new Affiliate Manager here at Vegas Affiliates.
I’ve checked your affiliate account and found that you have one player that was referred in Feb 2005. Also we cannot find any links to our casinos on your site. Therefore I have unfortunately had to put your affiliate account on hold.
I wait to hear from you soon.
Henry Ruuskanen
Affiliate ManagerMy Response same day:
Hi Henry,
If you want me to put any effort into promoting your casinos, you’ve started the wrong way. I do business with dozens of other programs, none have introduce themselves, by shutting down my account.fred
Henry – replies also on June 24th
Hi Fred,
Sorry, intros aside, it’s my job to clean the database from webmasters that no longer promote our casinos.
I believe your site has potential to make thousands from our casinos and I am willing to work closely with selected webmaster plus get special deals for them.
Let me know if you wish to continue promoting our casinos by placing links and banners on your website.Regards
HenryMy Reply:
Hi henry,
i’m certainly willing to try promoting some of your clients, but if you are looking for prime coverage, it won’t happen unless the campaigns work. I’m willing to give any honest casino/program a chance, but coverage is based on performance.fred
Well he never responded, so i sent this on july 3rd:
Well Henry,
since my account is inaccessible, your “retrieve password” function didn’t retrieve my passwords and since you never answered my the email below, i must assume that:a) you never received the email. it is included below
or
b ) your casino is dishonest
or
c) you expect me to provide you with premium coverage so i can have the privilege of promoting your casinoIf the answer is a, please send the password for my account. Otherwise, keep doing your job and see how many affiliates remove you from their sites.
fred
This was his reply this morning:
Hi Fred,
Sorry did not reply to your earlier email. Basically the situation is that you have referred one player since you joined and you have not promoted us since who knows when.
Our terms state that “you shall display one or more of the promotional material provided by Vegas Affiliates on your site”. As you have not done so there is reason enough to terminate your account, which I am inclined to do with affiliates that do not promote us, have the nerve to complain and accuse of dishonesty on top.If you want to continue working for Vegas Affiliates place our banners in a prominent location on your site and we will review your site’s performance after one month.
Regards
HenryThen I got angry (so don’t let the kids read my response)
henry,
you are not only an asshole, but an idiot too. ask your boss to fire you now, because in the next week or two it will happen anyways.I didn’t accuse your casino of dishonesty, i said i’d be happy to promote an honest casino. Since you didn’t respond, i figured you must not agree with the statement. But since i’ve found out that you are in fact not just rude, but a moron, i’ll just assume your replacement will do the right thing.
god how did your boss hire someone who is so such an offensive, dolt to handle his customers. I happen to know dozens of affiliates, many of them are your customers, you and your boss will be hearing from them soon
have fun at your new job butthead!
PS, i’m forwarding this to my friends so they can see the whole conversation. I hope you enjoy their feedback

July 4, 2006 at 5:09 pm #697534AnonymousInactiveIt’s hard to believe that it took them so long to find an affiliate manager like this guy.
I remember that I lost my password once and received the total runaround through several emails with the previous affiliate manager to get my password. I have just started sending significant numbers of players and now I am a little concerned that down the line I will get dicked out of my earnings on the lifetime of my players if I determine that the player value is not good enough and decide to quit sending a good volume of players.
I guess I will have to scale back the promotion of these casinos until I see their response. If they are just going to shut down old accounts because they are not getting new players I will never promote them in any serious way. I might even remove all of their links. Their affiliate support has sucked for a long time… I guess it is even worse when they “try” and communicate with webmasters.
I guess it will be more of the same (maybe worse) with Vegas Affiliates now. If this is how this affiliate manager is going to operate either he won’t be at VA for long or their casinos will not be on my sites for long.
July 4, 2006 at 5:12 pm #697535AnonymousInactiveA few more things…
I guess “Henry” is rather new to the industry. I know “AmCan” pretty well and he should too. What a moron to talk to a big affiliate like that.
That line “Henry” wrote about putting the banners in a prominent location and they will review the performance in 1 month is ridiculous. I did not even see that earlier. So they want “AmCan” to send players and then they will decide if they are going to pay him for them? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It is so fitting that he is the affiliate manager for Vegas JOKER casino!
July 4, 2006 at 5:19 pm #697537AnonymousInactiveGuess Vegas Affiliates are the only people not invited to our party at ICE 2007
:hehe:
Joker? about right
July 4, 2006 at 5:59 pm #697540AnonymousInactiveActually, Henry Ruuskanen isn’t new to the industry. He was formally with CommissionKing. Believe me he wasn’t any jewel over there to work with either. Never did I get one response from any emails I sent him. I’m surprised you received any yourself.
July 4, 2006 at 6:20 pm #697548AnonymousInactiveUnfortunately Amcan
had a chance to start promoting Vegas Affiliates
merchants again but decided not to. Instead he went on with his childish emails until his account was terminated. It’s obvious he was not prepared to work with us anyway but he went and saved his emails to publish on this forum. How pathetic.I told him to stop sending me emails to me or I would email all the casino merchants with his details to check if he is rorting their system as well. So then he stopped sending me emails, thank god for that!
Basically he’s referred one player about a year ago and has no links or banners on his sites to promote the Vegas Affiliates merchants. He had not sent any traffic for about year. Every affiliate knows that you can’t expect to get paid if you are not actively promoting the merchant. It’s called Good Faith – something Mr Weiss should google.
Mr Amcan stop whinging publicly as it is not doing your image any good. It is unprofessional and childish. Anyway your account is now closed, and you have lost your repeat commissions from the one player – end of story.
I’m looking for affiliates to work with for premium commissions and CPA deals (coming very soon). All you have to do is promote the Vegas Affiliate merchants in good faith. Our casinos are considered to be some of the best Microgaming casinos and players keep on coming back. For the partner this means long term month to month commission payments.

I still have contacts at Canbet so why don’t you send me your details and I’ll help you out with any queries you may have with CommissionKing.

You have some and Fred is our friend. I for one, do not like your response to Fred, very unprofessional.
July 4, 2006 at 6:30 pm #697552AnonymousInactiveI’d have to say that is a very unprofessional attitude. Player’s should be attributed for lifetime. If they are not (regardless of current promotion), then there are many other casinos to promote.
I will remove from my sites as I do not have players at this point and do not wish to be treated in such a manner.

I gave him an opportunity to get back into the program, to promote the casinos by adding a link or a banner, and all would be fine. And would still do so because all affiliates are good and I don’t hold a grudge against anyone. It’s all about mutual benefit and making the affiliate money and the merhants money.
July 4, 2006 at 6:37 pm #697554AnonymousInactiveHenry you are not only rude and stupid, you are also a liar and of course a THIEF!
the emails above are copied in their entirety.
I offerred to put up your casinos, but informed you, as anyone who knows anything about your crappy converting casinos would assume, that i won’t give you prominent positioning, unless you performed. You chose to not reply and leave my account locked – Great Customer Relations
Yep, that’s really childish. You are basically some sort of ego maniac who thinks you’re so powerful that people who make $1000 every 3 years with your program should shake at your words and cave into your unreasonable demands.
You are a moron. Until you are gone, there is little chance that you’ll get any additional coverage. I’m also sure that after reading this thread, the other members here will vote with their feet.
Tell your boss you’ve succeeded at reducing your affiliate program and that your services are no longer needed.
moron, moron, moron.
Well folks you judge, who’s wrong here? Do i need to commit to prominant coverage to get paid? Hope you have this loser’s casino on your home page so they don’t STEAL your commissions
VEGAS JOKER!!!!!!

Yes that is true but once you take the banners and links down you are no longer following the terms and conditions you signed up to. Some programs demote an affiliate to a lower level if they don’t perform or reduce the commission rate. We just ask for the links and/or banner to remain on the site and if they affiliate has not referred a player for a while we will work together to get more players. We will try everything we can to do this because there are ways. In Mr Weiss’ case he had referred a player a year ago. And he had stopped linking to us completely. I don’t think that is fair.
July 4, 2006 at 6:41 pm #697556AnonymousInactiveIs it standard practice here for an affiliate manager to put an affiliate’s full name in a post, especially when the affiliate took the effort to remove his name from his post? You never know everyone who reads on this site, and I, for one, am uncomfortable with affiliate managers doing this.

You see you’re going on again with this name calling. Relax dude! It’s common practice to first put the affiliate account on hold and then email the affiliate because the email address on file may be old. So this way at least the affiliate will email back.
