Pacific Poker joins the six figure tourney sector
September 8, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — 888.com subsidiary Paradise Poker.com has launched a new $100,000 guaranteed poker tournament branded the “$100,000 Deep Stack Challenge” to compete in the tough Sunday tournament field.
The new poker tournament runs every Sunday at 19:00 GMT with a $200+20 buy-in and $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. With a starting stack of 10,000 chips and generous 20-minute blind levels, this is a highly competitive deep stack poker event.
With satellites running all week in two strands, there is an entry point to suit most bankroll sizes. The “1 in 3” strand sends one player through to the next level for every three players in each satellite. The entry points are: $10+1, $27.50+2.50, $75+7.50 and $200+20 Deep Stack Challenge. The “1 in 4” strand sends one player through to the next level for every four players in each satellite. The entry points are: $4+0.40, $15+1, $55+5 and $200+20 Deep Stack Challenge. Leftover money is paid to second place onwards at all levels.
Extra satellites run each Sunday, so players can start at the $4.40 level and qualify all the way through to the $100,000 Deep Stack Challenge on the same day.
Added inducements to participate are offered to every entrant in the shape of an entry into the company’s $10,000 Warm-up Freeroll the following Sunday at 17:00 GMT, in a “two tournaments for the price” incentive. Registration can be found under the “$100,000” tab in the 888poker lobby.
Gareth Edwards, Poker Marketing Director for 888.com, said: “The new $100,000 Deep Stack Challenge is an exciting event for 888poker. Deep stack poker is gaining a lot of popularity in offline poker clubs and casinos, so we decided to bring the format online. More chips, more playtime, less bad luck — a poker players dream!”
