Ok, so it is all doom and gloom
But i just got off the phone with the Affiliate teams manager at Bodog and he said Neteller accounts for only 10% of all there deposits.
So that has made me quite happy.
So you can assume that its a simular figure for other programs or that its not like neteller was 50% + on average which would have been dredfull
Anythoughs ?
January 18, 2007 at 8:28 pm #723275casinoiMemberThis was in an email from UB
“UltimateBet has been preparing for this scenario for several months and this means that, compared to our competition, we have a relatively small number of players that use NETeller. We are 100% confident that the majority of these players will make an easy transition to one of the many safe, secure and similar banking methods already available.”
It might not be true but, we can hope it is.

January 18, 2007 at 9:10 pm #723279vladcizsolMemberBodog may be a special case as they apparently have their own payment mechanisms in place. But I can assure the rest of the industry (casinos) relied on Neteller for a much higher percentage of their money transfers then 10%.
MUCH higher.
January 18, 2007 at 9:14 pm #723281casinoiMemberWhat kind of payment mechanisms does Bodog have?
January 18, 2007 at 9:15 pm #723282vladcizsolMemberNeteller reported they processed $7.3 billion in 2005. If the market was around 12 billion that year you can guestimate what their actual percentage was.
Heres a quote from a news report posted at Gambling911
Quote:Full Tilt Poker depended on NETeller for 75 percent of transactions, and the world’s biggest site, Pokerstars, used NETeller for around 60 percent of wagers. Those are much closer to the actual numbers one would expect then 10%
January 18, 2007 at 9:36 pm #723286AnonymousInactivethanks prof for those stats……. i have quite a few fulltilt players
i guess everyone will just have to open up a new elwallet
also those people who did always deposit via neteller will be used to what it takes and how ewallets work and just open up a new one in time.
but i was like many others here hoping this didnt happen for atleast another 5 months

Anythoughs ?yes, it’s spin to make you feel better. So did you ask him how the other 90% of deposits were made?
January 18, 2007 at 9:41 pm #723289vladcizsolMemberDarko you are correct. Another eWallet that provides the same level of service and ease of use as Neteller is what we need.
I am also fairly certain that just such a creature will arrive within a few months. We went through this before when we lost Paypal and we survived. Its just going to be a bumpy ride for the next quarter.
Whats KEY is that we dont lose any futher casinos or poker rooms in the US.
Payment processors can be replaced, an outlet for US gamblers to play at cant.January 18, 2007 at 9:46 pm #723290AnonymousInactiveas netellers a plc they have to publicly display there revs and figires etc
i wonder if they have to discolse there biggest clients ?
so might be worth checking there end of year results for last year.i’ll speak to him again at bodog, he just said they have loads of echecks / instant depsoits as they have been pushing it hard for a long time, we was on the phone for a while as said and mentioned other depositing options they push……. A bit like absolute pokers recent email.
i guess only time will tell with my / our earnings their and at other programs
.

.
.theres billions at stake and i agree prof, there WILL be another neteller in time thats willing to stay in the US….. if poker rooms and casinos are willing to take the risk of offering USA play, im sure some ewallets will to in time.
whever its one of the ewallets out now or a new one made by the gambling industry / some of the casino/poker owners ….. who knows….but i do belive 1 or more will emerge ( figures crossed )
