Rogerlodge, could you tell me:
1. what the fees are for wires?
2. if there are currency exchange fees to change it into us dollars?
3. If there was any special information required at sign-up? (anything other than address/phone number and the like)
thanksApril 24, 2007 at 8:38 pm #734832croupierMember1. 80 GBP
2. no, but there is a spread between the rates, so you can call hsbc to ask them when is the best time to do a wire.
3. not that i recall. copy of a bank statement, you also needed to deposit 5k GBP which is roughly $10k. you can start the registration process online, and it will show you all the information you will need to provide them.they asked why i wanted the account. i said i do business with foreign companies. they emailed and asked which companies and where are they located. i said pay tech international and gibraltar. that was that.
most of this stuff can be found on their website, or calling them. they are very helpful.
May 28, 2007 at 6:47 pm #738043AnonymousInactiveJust got it all set up and I am dissapointed to say NETeller will not pay out to any US account holder even if the bank is offshore. The only way is to have a physical address out of the US and change the details on the account. Anyone have any ideas or maybe a physical address I can borrow
June 5, 2007 at 5:53 pm #738901AnonymousInactiveJust spoke with Neteller. If you call the 800 number you get a recording, but if you call the long distance one, you’ll get a person.
I called them because I happened to log into my Neteller account and noticed that it now shows a balance. For the longest time it showed a balance of zero because all the funds were trapped in the nebulous outgoing transfer “pending” zone. But now it shows they’re back in the account.
The representative I spoke with said that it is not possible to withdraw the funds at this time, but they expect to have the go-ahead “pretty shortly here” (whatever that means). He said at that time you’ll be able to withdraw to the bank account your account was set up with, or via check. He said it will not be possible to withdraw to an account other than the one your account was originally set up with.
He said it will be posted on http://updates.neteller.com as soon as it is available.

July 13, 2007 at 5:34 pm #742423AnonymousInactiveToday, July 13th, was the date mentioned in the previous update for possible release of the Neteller US member funds. Instead, we get yet another postponement of indeterminate length…
Friday, 13 July 2007 – NETELLER Plc (LSE: NLR), the independent global online payments business, today issued the following statement regarding its progress in resolving the investigation by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (USAO) into the Company.
As stated in the Company’s announcement of 12 July 2007, NETELLER stated that it had advised the USAO that it will use its best efforts to resolve the investigation on or soon after 13 July 2007. The Company believes that it is making significant progress towards achieving a resolution and hopes to be able to announce this within a number of days.
Full press release: http://www.neteller-group.com/press/en/134.htm
Based on the text above, apparently they made an announcement yesterday that still indicated resolution “on or soon after” today. Also on their US update page, I see that US members are no longer able to call their support, instead being forced to use online communications.
This latest twist has me more concerned than I was after the early June announcement. Anyone else think this is getting fishy?
