Hi everyone,
I’m wondering how those of you with multiple websites deal with images that you use over and over again. Presumably, if you have 100 websites, you use the same screenshots, banners, casino logos, etc. across multiple sites.
My question is this — do you upload all of the images to each domain, or do you keep the images on one central domain and then “hotlink” to the images from your other sites?
Seems like it would be easier to hotlink — simply use an absolute URL and call the image from a single, master site, instead of uploading hundreds of images to each and every domain (and then re-uploading those images every time something needs to be udpated).
On the other hand, is there a serious downside to using an image across so many different sites? Is this a “no-no?” I suppose you do need to consider bandwidth usage…. But aside from that, is there anything negative that could come from doing this?
I’d be interested to hear how some of the more experienced webmasters handle this sort of thing.
