Hello, I am currently living in Bulgaria but I am fed with the cold winters here. I want to move to some warmer place. I am open for suggestions by people that have done it. A plus would be low tax and cheaper properties. Any advice would be good.

I hear Malta is beautiful and warm and filled with some great people from the industry….ever thought about moving there?
Or, Florida & California here in the US are nice and toasty. :satisfied Have any of our CAP members made the move and have advice for Betting-Forum.com?

English Harbor Rum is the very best imo, the people are nice if you stay out of the slums. The American dollar goes far there, and if you like 78F in the winter than by all means. You should consider taking an “all inclusive” to either a sandals or go there and rent a place and see for yourself. Sure the infrastructure is not as good as the US, but plenty of people with money live there so it attracts decent doctors and professionals. Eric Clapton’s house is there on a hill. Watch the largest boating races in the Caribbean. Quite a sight to behold.

I had considered Malta but the only thing that stops me is that I know only English, Malta is close to Bulgaria so I can travel with plane for 200 euro which is a big plus. Antigua looks great, but I guess the properties there are so expensive if you want to live in this tropical paradise.

November 26, 2013 at 2:55 pm #835267EfizqfhdMemberIf you want a no expensive, tax free, safe, no polution, beautifull beach, modernity, daily planes, good wheater … look for Mexico Riviera Maya (Cancun, Playa del carmen, Tulum…).
Most traditional tax haven are so small that you will be boring to dead after just a few weeks. In riviera maya, there are people, which means big supermarket, movies, commercial mall, restaurant … modernity.
Mexico and most central american contries are tax free if you live from outside income, which is the case if you work on internet. You have to ask for a rentista visa, show that you have some money (25 – 50 000 euros in a account will do). No investment is require. All countires citizen qualify for this program. I have live there for 9 years, i previously lived in Costa Rica, Panama and other latin american countries.

November 26, 2013 at 7:10 pm #835269Ivo van BeekMemberI live in Costa Rica and although its a beautiful country, it is a bit expensive. Real estate is high as well as cost of living, compared to other countries in Central and South America, it ranks as one of the more expensive ones.
I think Malta would be a great choice for you!
November 27, 2013 at 9:06 am #835273misswiggMemberIt’s very small though like MrProno mentioned, definitely not for everyone

Mexico is a big country 2 000 000 km2, and some part are not recomendable, but the riviera maya is 2000 km away for Mexico city and 4000 km away from tijuana, and very safe. I live 20 km south playa del carmen in a very safe gated comunity (Puerto Aventuras Marina on the Riviera Maya, Mexico’s Caribbean Coast, el costo Caribe de Mexico). Riviera maya get 7 millions tourist a year and everything is done to maintain them safe. For me is is safer to leave here than in Europe. In 9 years i have never get a single problem, no even my car radio stolen despite, it frequently park on the street. Of course, it depend of your life style.
Also Mexico is less cheaper than Europe, US, or other latin american countries, like costa rica, Panama … Real estate is amazingly cheap. A golf course home in gated comunity is worth less than 1000 euros per square meter, you can rent a 2 bedrooms condo with marina view for 500 euros. Gasoline in .70 cent per liter, you can eat for 10 euro in a restaurant…
For your informarion Cancun is for american people (25 floor towers…), Playa del carmen for european and Tulum for backpakers.
Also everybody speak english. Easy to get residency (if you have money to show), and no tax at all (you are not even allow to present a tax file). I have leave in latin america for 25 years, in 5 counrties and travel around in several others, if you like the good live, it is the place.
and it easy to try, for around 1000 euros, you can take a week hollyday in a all inclusive 5 stars resort (flight included) and see for yourself. And if you need more info, send me a private message and we may speak with skype
