    Fiction when i wanted to send out mailers for Fortune Lounge properties to an opt in database they wanted me to sign an agreement that allowed them to shut down my account should they receive spam complaints .

    Needless to say i did not sign it and that is not saying that i am a spammer , i am not – i just out of principle would not sign a one sided agreement like that.

    Have you complained to FL re this – as with these controls in place i am sure that they can identify the culprit quite quickly and take the relevant action .

    This is a good bunch of people and i am sure they will respond to your issue

    Hi, Greg

    Fortune know pretty well that I’ve reported spam to them before with little success ;)

    I have brought spam to them with 0 success as well.. Now I get 10 times as much spam from the same people that someone at Platinum Play sold my email address to.

    They don’t care, IMO.

    Hi;

    Fiction: that tag you have given me is for a genuine affiliate. PM me the email address being spammed and I will personally contact the affiliate and have your address removed from his lists.

    Kwblue: You’ve jumped to the conclusion that Platinum Play sold your email address; this is not a practice that any of the Fortune Lounge casinos have ever followed.

    If you would like us to investigate anything we are here and available to look into any matter.

    Unless you have a hidden agenda against Fortune you would follow certain steps to confirm that your conclusion is valid before posting in a public forum.

    Please could you (kwblue) contact me directly if indeed you would like this issue resolved?

    It went to the same e-mail address your properties were being spammed to last time. I provided you with that address so you could investigate. No surprise that you never ‘discovered’ how I got onto that list – eCOGRA told me that the list has been re-sold many times for spamming.

    btw, Marvyn – if it’s a genuine affiliate then please find out and disclose here in public how my address got into that affilate’s hands.

    Hi Fiction;

    I’m afraid you’re incorrect in stating that I could not tell you how you got onto the previous spammers list.

    You refused to provide me with your email address so I could not investigate further.

    This is a quote from your post regarding the previous spam you were receiving: “Marvyn wants my e-mail address so I can be unsubscribed from the list. I won’t hand it over because I want to know if he’s still spamming.” http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/showthread.php?t=26775&page=3

    The same goes for this current affiliate sending you the mails – I need your email address so that I can get the affiliate to explain where he got it from.

    If you really want the answers, give me your email address.

    I’m not wrong.

    Prof asked me for it to look into with you. I provided it – against my better judgement.

    Yes, I “really” want the answers.

    Hi;

    I never got that email address.

    Seeing as Professor is on holiday, could you send it straight to me?

    Thanks.

    On my side of things….

    I did provide FA with the email address (that was ONLY used to sign up to Platinum Play), was told they would look into it, but nothing ever happened. (So, yes… I did contact you not just in a ‘public forum’).

    Now I get approximately 50 emails per day from spammers for all other casinos besides PP.

    I will find the email trail if it is not during the time frame that my backups and my crashed hard drive did not intersect.

    Of course I have nothing against FA. I do have something against anyone who has ‘lost’ or ‘compromised’ my email addresses though. I sign up with each casino with a different email address on purpose that I create specifically for that casino. It takes time to do this and I do it for this exact scenario.

    ok – found the last email from me on 9/7/2007 to Dov. No response from him or the ‘new program manager who stepped back in’ David S. I sent the emails to him for proof, they had the affiliate’s id. Nothing was done, of course, because the spams have never stopped even for a single day.

    It’s frustrating, Marvyn, to get the backlash on this when I did everything in my power to help FA get to the bottom of this.

    Hi kwblue;

    I clearly did not have all the facts regarding your particular spam issue. So let me firstly apologize for my previous reply to you.

    Having spoken to David S your concerns have been confirmed. The affiliate that spammed you could not explain how they got hold of your email address and we have since ceased doing business with them.

    I would still like to emphasize that Fortune and the casinos we represent do not under any circumstances sell or share player/affiliate information.

    I hope that this clarifies this unfortunate situation, if there is anything else we can assist with please PM me.

    Thanks Marvyn for the reply :) That’s all I truly wanted. I know FA does not support spammers nor do they sell email addresses.

    It’s too bad there isn’t a way (I know of) to email a bomb to this guy/girl. I get sooooooooo many emails. I guess I will just shut down the PP email address and that will solve it. Either that or maybe I will start monitoring it and extracting all his/her affiliate id’s to send to the programs that are being promoted (English Harbour, Super Slots, Riverbelle, Lucky Nugget, Golden Gate Casino – no surprise there, CasinoShare, and many, many more)

    I think it’s time to get this guy removed from affiliate programs. I have at least 1000 emails that I have yet to remove from my deleted folder which should help out.
