I do not understand the tag

Is the tag useful or just leave it away?

I’m not familiar with the tag, but a quick Google search led me to some information:

That tag is for no caching. Usually when a visitor goes to your website your images (etc) are stored so that when they visit the next time, the page loads faster. This tag prevents that. IMHO, I see no point in using it.

So the use ot the tag is that I can be sure that visitors always see the newest page.
Useful if a page is updated often.

Yes but it depends on whether the images are updated as well. I believe if your visitors have “every visit to the page” option ticked in their internet explorer options, they will see new updates anyway. The tag will also keep search engines from caching your pages. :la-de-da:
