I sent an email directly to John Hartley there–maybe I’ll hear back from him today.
July 8, 2004 at 4:28 pm #651721AnonymousGuestHi,
I don’t have accounts at other affiliate programs, but I’m wondering how many other software companies report manager credits in their stats? Can anyone break this down for me? I’m just curious to know.
ThanksJuly 8, 2004 at 9:17 pm #651739AnonymousInactiveI never even heard the word manager credit until I signed up to promote RTG.
Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems to be all RTG. Only Phoenecian isn’t doing that as far as I know, but again, I could be wrong, I don’t do much with RTG.
July 8, 2004 at 9:32 pm #651740vladcizsolMemberI spoke with John Hartley and Rod in a conference call this afternoon and we are working on this. They are very concerned about the situation and interested in developing a gameplan to correct the Manager Credit issues and optimize the profitability for affiliates.
We are assembling a group of affiliates for a teleconference with senior casino managment, Gambling Wages managament and CAP on Monday. I will be asking for several affiliates to volunteer to sit on the committee and represent the affiliate position in this.
I would like for people who are interested to PM me.
I will update you guys with additional details as they develop.

July 10, 2004 at 3:00 am #651850AnonymousGuestWhat I mean to get at is, if a program doesn’t itemize that for you, how do you know what’s happening with your commissions? Do most programs report your earnings and little else? And if so, how do you know what credits were given?
Certainly they have to be giving bonuses.
Would we be better off not giving you so much information?
Maybe it’s less confusing to just tell you the amount you earned.
People are very very confused about this topic and I don’t like the implication that I’m trying to spin the issue. I’m at a loss as to how to explain it anymore.July 10, 2004 at 3:56 am #651851AnonymousInactiveI really dont want a personalized response to this, it’s just my opinion. You can respond on here if you want.
Why would manager credits ever be debited from our commissions anyway? If you give a $100 bonus and that bonus is lost it should not count. If that bonus is cashed out then yes our commissions should reflect this. But in all honesty bonuses are rarely ever cashed out, and this money does not exist but as a number in cyberspace. I’m seeing a lot of programs that comp a player $100, that player loses the $100, so it cost the casino nothing, yet the affiliate is hit with this credit.

So my the following comments aren’t directed at gamblingwages, who in the past have actually performed very well for me with very low manager credits and good commission cheques to me.
It does seem with RTG casinos that they give out *alot* of manager credits and bonuses to players. These bonuses almost *never* get cashed out due to play thru and other roadblocks to protect the casinos money. However, they always seem to work against the affiliate. So at the end of the day, the casino can give out manager credit/bonuses to players risk free, knowing neither the player, or the affiliate will ever see the money. I think bonuses/manager credits should only ever reflect in the stats when they cash them out. Otherwise it seems they just fill up players accounts with these free credits, knowing there never going to be used, but boy they work nicely agasint out affiliate commissions.
July 30, 2004 at 9:08 pm #652828AnonymousInactiveI totally agree with that!!! My manager credits wiped out my commissions one month. I had over 5,000 in deposits and 4500 in manager credits! NOT FAIR AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 30, 2004 at 10:54 pm #652832AnonymousInactiveCome on John answer the question. I know you see the responces in our email.
July 30, 2004 at 11:34 pm #652833AnonymousInactiveWhen manager credits are done, yes they reflect in your stats, so say a player gets $100 in a credit then that is deducted from the affiliate, then when the players loses on that credit the commission is reflected in your account, hence the net effect to affiliates is $0 in losses. Most manager credits are done on the fly, meaning alot of players when they are on the phone with a CSR will request or negotiate a special bonus, at that time the CSR usually does not have time to create a new bonus coupon code (Thats when it would show under coupons not manager credits) as the customer wants the bonus then and there at the time they deposit they don’t like to wait, so they add it in as a “Manager Credit”. There is a another reason why manger credits show up but unfortunately I can not post the reason due to the industry and competitve advantage that we have. I could however explain in a phone discussion if anyone would like further explanation in this regard. Feel free to contact me at the number below
