I was hoping for somebody from RB to make some kind of statement today, but it looks like that they are just going to ignore us.

I’m glad I replaced all their links over the weekend. I’m certainly not one of their “Top 10 affiliates” but they do consider me a Top Affiliate. At least I was told so many times. I do usually have 5 figure income from them.
So far nobody contacted me for a “special deal” which I will refuse!

I was actually looking forward to meet my affiliate manager (Shane) at CAC which is going to be the very first conference I will attend (even though I’m in this business since 1998!); now I’m trying to decide whether to tell them my thoughts or just avoid them all together.

I think they may have given up on offering deals. I think most all of us told them not to bother.

I wish we had been equally hard on Fortune and VP and Partnerlogic, Referback would likely never have come up with this stuff.

We have to be consistent. The first mistake was when we let Referback get away with the 20% thing, which is now too late to pursue legally.

That set the first legal precedent, which was successfully exploited by Fortune, Vegas Partner and Partnerlogic. In turn that emboldened Referback and now we have that mess.

We really need to try to show all 4 of them that this is not tolerated, so that there will be no 5th program trying this stuff.

I was studying T&Cs lately, and quite a few programs appear to have fortified the clause that says that if we send any players at all after they change their T&Cs, it means that we accept the new terms. This makes it totally impossible to pursue them legally.

    That worries me very much.

    Dom-

Please stop with the ridiculous grandfathering bullshit – you are not on solid legal ground with that claim. Your lawyers did not tell you that you cannot pursue legal action either.

There IS no legal precedent whatsoever for any of these programs.

besides, the majority of us either don’t have the money, inclination, or for that matter confidence (that it would be worth the trouble even if we won) to pursue such avenues.

Lets stick to sticking together and run these warning lists in very high profile places.

    **********

on a sadder note; it sounds like we will have to do just that. Another of our members just told me they had decided not to change; and lets put it this way, I trust the source enough to go ahead and start making the necessary arrangements to get RB casinos added to my warning list which I’ve already got up on several sites and now it looks as if I will have to put it on all of them.

you know one has to wonder if this doesn’t involve ego to some point because I just can’t see how any of these places think they are going to keep climbing when they’ve
    1. lost their best source,… almost their only source of new faces.
    2. will have (if everyone I think participates does) a very big NEGATIVE ad campaign, one unlike which the online gambling world has ever seen, this includes newsletters, front page exposure, and I imagine a few will even go as far as creating a “riverbelle casino sucks” page or something like that for SEO purposes – basically turning every possible avenue of any kind of support to proving how credible they are: except of course for their magazine (ya right! people will beleive they’re credible because the magazine THEY put out says so).

well I guess no sense pointing all that out again. …sorry.

okay, can we get a unified agreement to perhaps run a front page warning list?

that will be felt most effectively and faster than any thing else.

why I’d imagine they will be able to visibly see the drop-off not only in new players, and traffic; but when the players see those warnings, they’ll disappear too.

I wish it wasn’t so; but I stand ready to launch.

I just need the official word they’re going to be stupid about this and I’ll get started.

    Just a thought….

Perhaps Simmo! can work up a script that can be placed wherever people want that scrolls the names of the offensive programs and a BRIEF description of why we recommend people not patronize these casinos.

I know people with multiple sites will not be keen on constantly updating a list and a dynamic solution would make it far more likely these folks will participate.

Really neat idea if it’s feasable for Simmo!
