I understand this is still very much needed to get better or higher ranking. Is this correct?
Also I believe that link exchange is no good anymore, also article directories are no longer a good idea.
So how do I get more backlinks? I mean I am really lost LOLApril 18, 2014 at 4:20 pm #835836gerelasMemberIt’s got to be done organically… are you creating shareable content? Posting socially?

Hi Michaela
To help out the novices here… can you give some examples of what you mean, and also some examples of what NOT to do?
Thank you so much for any assistance
April 19, 2014 at 7:05 pm #835843leaprillkaroMemberYou should try to create some quality content that other would like to share and link back. For example, you can make some analysis of Liverpool success in England Premier League in this season and Liverpool fans will share it. Well, you need some good idea and some time to develop quality content.
April 28, 2014 at 3:00 pm #835923fancylMemberWell as it well know “content is king”, so the most important is to have good and unique content, then the links, shares, likes, etc.. will come ( with some extra work xDD)
April 29, 2014 at 7:47 am #835937p.arenaMemberWell, anyone hoping that a generic piece of content (slot reviews, casino reviews, the best casino for US types of pages) will get some natural links is either living in an illusion or should already be a best selling author.

Ha, couldn’t agree more
April 29, 2014 at 10:14 am #835942gclubMemberBacklinks are still on third position in the algorithms. Unique and quality content is really the basics. However, in the casino, etc. crowded market, content is not enough.
Why someone say that articles and guest posts do not work?
Of course, do not post article about roulette at screw drivers manufacturer blog, or similar schemes. Do not post your article in general article directories, where article about weight losing and yours about casino, are close placed, this will not help.
Try to post articles at the niche sites and blogs, very close to your niche.
Try to get some backlinks from niche authority relevant directory (very relevant to the topic of your site/blog). Avoid spammy submissions to the junk general directories, with links to every imaginable sites and topics.

Agreed, but for some place they have to start… And those generic pieces of contest are the easiest part to do it.
May 26, 2014 at 4:30 pm #836030dslavaMemberBuying backlinks is fools gold. At some point it will come back and bit you in the ass. We stopped doing it a couple years ago and I’m glad we did because it freed up money to spend on better ways to improve sites/content/traffic the right way. Don’t worry about having a ton of backlinks as A) they won’t bring much traffic from those sites and if they are paid links than you will always be subject to the slap and loss of organic traffic overnight. It’s better to have two backlinks from two great sites with authority than 500 plus that were bought on crap blogs and crap sites.
May 27, 2014 at 8:41 am #836032nambrosinMemberNo point going for low quality backlinks as it will only hurt.
Get links from any niche site that have good traffic and better trust flow.
May 28, 2014 at 11:12 am #836035AnonymousInactiveBuild great content and you will get links. What nonsense, fuelled by Google’s self serving propaganda. We’re not bakeries or doggy parlours or the local tyre shop running a coupon promo.
If anyone believes that I would like them to please show me a piece of gambling content that resulted in proper links for an affiliate site. Better yet, show me a site with meaningful rankings based on this principle.
May 29, 2014 at 3:31 am #836039casius14MemberI agree with much said here… If you want to rank, at least to some degree you have to be active in linking back to your site. The key is to not over do it, and know a little goes a long way… Forum sig. is a good start, Q and A sites that cite sources is another. A few good articles with back links on other websites and maybe a “shout-out” from a friends site.. I see nothing wrong with those, as well as a good profile of social backlinks as you should be doing some sort of promoting if you own a business.
Mix that with some strong content deserving of the above links… and you should be alright.
May 29, 2014 at 4:16 am #836040nambrosinMemberGetting a link on high trust site irrespective it is not a gambling site will only help.
On the other hand link in casino site with low trust flow will harm.June 2, 2014 at 8:53 pm #836052AnonymousInactive– Link swapping is a waste of time.
– Directory submissions don’t work.
– Article submissions don’t work.
– PPC traffic is expensive and the clicks are powered by monetary incentives and offers.
– Buying links will get your site penalized, is expensive and in the long run, worthless, as the selling party continues to sell more and more links until his/her website loses value, expires, etc
– You will get links if you build great content is not true.Having great content will definitely encourage repeat visitors, but it will not necessarily get you links. Regularly adding quality content will also give your site more visibility in the search engines as your site will appear in the serps for more search terms. Social media sites can also be a good source of traffic. But how does one get tons of quality links naturally? That is the one million dollar question.
