Classics got banned for his discretion. It’s over. Frankly, the more i think about what has occured here- Classics banishment and the ensuing backstabbing – the angrier I get.
I think it’s a real shame that people want to talk badly about someone who isn’t here to defend themselves.
Hey Fergie do you think my original request was a bribe? I was just protecting my reputation. I have met alot of the folks in person who are part of CAP and they know i am a honest webmaster.
Yes, talking about people who can’t defend themselves isn’t nice and it is part of the reason why the forums here are open so all can read and not like some other place where people get banned and then put on trial without ever even seeing what they are accused of.
In any case, let’s put this to rest. I understand that it may be a surprise to many here, but it was surely no surprise to classics.
No good will come from now starting a flame about what happend. Let’s everyone just relax and hope that Classics will be back with a style that is just as blunt about the issues but refrains from insulting others.
There is no reason why this cannot have a happy ending.
Classics made a lot of valuable contributions to this forum, and I’m sorry to see him go.
I agree that it’s a shame that people here feel the need to talk badly about someone who is not here to defend himself. Especially after the situation has been “resolved”.

Your original request wasn’t intended as a bribe, but that’s how it would likely be interpreted by a DMOZ editor. That would eliminate your chances of getting in. Classics was pointing that out in response to your request for help in getting into the directory.

I have no regrets taking up for my good friends Islandmann and Professor. Personally, I could care less whether Classics comes back to CAP or not. Enough said!You went on in great length in post #27 about Classics, including pointing out that he called people names and insulted people. If that’s not talking bad about people who aren’t here to defend themselves, then I don’t know what is.

Your reputation is protected by that alone. What more would you like?
I think the others here dissing him after he was thrown out of CAP, and when he cannot defend himself is in extremely poor taste. It is beneath us. It is trailer-park mentality. I strongly object.

You are one of the most straight forward, honest people I know.
Most webmasters who have been in business for some time have realized that hiring someone to do tasks about which you are somewhat clueless pays off. There is a nice ROI in avoiding making mistakes and losing time. Hiring someone more skilled to do it for you does the trick.
I do it all the time. As a matter of fact, there is a market gap here folks. Real knowledgeable people of all associated skills here can make good money helping webmasters handle tasks in the most efficient and effective way.
Everyone who has been hiring people to take care of such tasks knew exactly what Islandmaan was talking about without a doubt when they first saw it.

This was an explanation of the facts that caused the problem because I had people asking me why a lot.
He did do that. And he had been warned about it, and it is why he is on hiatus.
All of this debate is quite useless and is starting to turn into a flame again…
