Hello,
Does anybody know if online gambling is regulated in Ireland, like it is in the UK?
Do you know if there are other EU countries where advertise online casinos is fully permitted? Thanks
November 24, 2009 at 11:37 am #806031DanmanMemberLast I read, the Irish government were taking steps to regulate online gaming. At present, I don’t believe there is any formal regulation of online gaming, with the most recent regulation being in 1956!
As such, Irish-based gaming providers, Paddy Power and Boylesports, to name a couple, are licensed offshore. Players can make transactions to and from these entities with no trouble at all and to all intents and purposes, this is a market you should look to push without fear of losing traffic and players.
To be sure (sorry!), the Irish market is great if you do sports betting and poker. Online casino is something that is certainly growing in popularity and will certainly get a boost with regulation.
If anyone knows any better, please feel free to correct me!

Betting services are open to private operators, which includes online betting services. However, Ireland currently has no law specifically governing casinos.
Notably, Irish regulation does not apply to operators that operate online from outside of Ireland, regardless of the fact that they may be targetting Irish customers. Therefore, while operators can be prosecuted for unauthorised gambling activity that occurs within Ireland, the Irish prohibition does not extend to offshore online betting or gaming activity.March 19, 2010 at 3:48 pm #809099rohitsharma67Member@alexpratt 212811 wrote:

Hi,
Do you know anything about the situation in Austria and Slovenia?March 19, 2010 at 3:57 pm #809101AnonymousInactiveFor some reason it doesn’t mention Austria or I may be missing it – If you want check as I uploaded the article – Its the first one on this page Law & Legislation | iGaming Business I would think Austria is ok as I am sure you can do Google PPC in Austria or at least operators can
Under Slovenia it said:
There are no express provisions under Slovenian law which apply to online betting and
gaming. However, offline gambling can only be organized by a company located within the country which has been granted a licence. It would appear, therefore, that online gambling could in theory be licensed but, unless it is, it is prohibited.
It is an offence to provide online gambling licensed outside Slovenia into Slovenia, although
given the lack of enforcement action to date, the risk to operators with no local presence is low. -
