Hi everybody,
I have been in this industry for quite a long time now and one thing that I have noticed and puts a grin on face face every time it happens (Because I see that I am right) is that approximately 2 weeks prior to any conference, you will see some sort of fighting going on.
This is really freaky. Anybody wants to go through the trouble.. search the forums around the dates of any given conference.
Simply amazing..
Is it because nerves start tingling at the thought of actually meeting somebody that you don’t want to?
Is it because you know you will meet somebody that you are jealous of?
Is it simply to start something that will be a topic of discussion?Anyway.. just feeling a little philisophical this morning:)
Looking forward to meeting everybody in Vegas..
September 15, 2004 at 4:08 pm #655060AnonymousInactiveYou know – you’re right! I never thought about it that way before.
Maybe people are nervous.
I’m looking forward to seeing you again – and I feel guilty about not getting back on the linking yet. It’s a yes but I am lagging badly behind…
We’ll have a few beers!
September 15, 2004 at 4:12 pm #655061AnonymousInactiveI’m looking forward to meeting most of you in person. I know I definitely owe Dominique a couple of beers for sure.
Heck–I probably owe everyone here who’s helped me get started over the last year a couple of beers.

We have alot of good people in the biz and they are much more helpful to each other than most industries I have been in.

September 15, 2004 at 6:16 pm #655073AnonymousInactiveI totally agree with Brian!
I am not aware of nervous people at meetings either, but I do notice the increase of conflict prior to conventions, like Peralis said.
Maybe some people are nervous beforehand but when they get there they realize it’s just a nice and useful thing.
September 15, 2004 at 7:24 pm #655081AnonymousInactiveI don’t think casinos shave due to conference time.
I think there could be issues here.
1) the drop of ppc’s are just now starting to show in profits.
2) strong summer months and now a bit of a slow down
3) the hurricanes lately could also be effecting players not purchasing as much ” at least in the eastern states”With Microgaming I have noticed when progressives are low the players seem to not play as much.. When Major Millions hits high numbers the players are more active. ( just something I have noticed ) If you remember May, June and July Major Millions was huge. Right now Major Millions is not that big.. These are trends I notice.
This is just my opinion.

This is very true. I frequently visit a forum on pharmacy affiliate marketing, and the people there are dicks compared to this community.

September 15, 2004 at 7:51 pm #655085AnonymousInactiveAntoine is 100% right. This is far and away the nicest group I’ve seen too. I havent been flamed here once and everywhere else I go I usually get slammed for no reason other than people being dicks with a capital “D”.
September 15, 2004 at 10:27 pm #655092AnonymousInactiveWell, I get flamed very occasionally – usually when trying to stop a flame. I’ve developed a thick skin.
But I have to agree that I like everyone here – and many I like a lot. It’s a super group.
Every convention and other get together I have been to has been great for one reason – all the people are great.
September 17, 2004 at 11:14 pm #655202AnonymousInactiveSorry this is off topic, but Peralis I’ve PMed and emailed you and not heard from you, guess you’re not getting them. Please email, pretty important!
September 20, 2004 at 5:09 pm #655259AnonymousInactiveSorry Ellen – have been away.. I have just PM’ed you…
