Croupier – Godaddy isn’t the problem. I’m sure they had a lot to consider before taking such serious action & the decision they made was surely for valid reasons. What is a disgrace is a affiliate program knowingly allowing, or turning a blind eye to, affiliates that send out emails that aren’t welcome to the recipient. I’m sure Fortune wasn’t shut down for just 1 spam complaint. I personally have forwarded countless spam mailers I received over to Fortune support and requested that they contact the affiliate and have my email addresses removed. Even after several conversations w/ Fortune and having a few discussions directly with the affiliate & requesting that my emails be removed permanently from future mailings… No change… Just more “Super Size me” idiotic spam emails everyday. Fortune could easily close the accounts of the affiliates that spam & cause these problems for everyone, but they don’t.

Never said they didn’t spam or allow their affs too, just warning you guys about godaddy ’cause they have shut domains down for virtualy no reason in the past.

Exactly what Erik said – especially about “Super Size Me”.

If we need to go the name and shame route, I am happy to do so – but Fortune really ought to stand up and show us that they have SOME integrity…

All in all an interesting discussion but at least another statement from FA will be interesting, too.

In my opinion it isn´t a big surprise the FA domain cannot be reached as I had this problem in the past several times.

And because of this all FA-affiliates are having the right to get a honest and clear statement about this lot of domain failures and the future of FA.

These are the most interesting questions for me. Bulding websites is a hard work. Switching off all that casino links from several domains is a lot of work, too.

    Greetings Tom

After breach of contract? I think that pretty much precludes integrity.

Not going to argue that point. Maybe we should just let them dig their grave a bit deeper by not addressing this issue which has persisted for YEARS.

No physical address, so it qualifies as spam. I’ve been getting a lot of those. They are all text and go under the radar of a lot of spam filters. That may not be all that smart to do! It probably reaches some people who really hate casino spam. I tend to let it in as a rule out of curiosity of who does what – but I think others with strong filters will be angry about this.

I could possibly be wrong, but that email sure appears to be from the same affiliate that’s been spamming me for quite some time now, relentlessly. The email is structured the same, senders domain, or at least the unsubscribe link domain is identical to a few of the mailers I’ve received from that affiliate. Apparently the affiliate isn’t too concerned that Fortune just had problems with their domains because of spam, or no one is telling him not to send unsolicited emails.

Just received another Fortune spam. Same affiliate tag as the one Dominique received.

For a while I just blocked each domain the spam came from, but this affiliate changes domains to send from so it was pointless. Like Spearmaster said, we might have to take the “name and shame route” at some point here. I would really like to see Fortune address this issue and detail how this problem is going to be resolved.

They are not going to address the issue, I bet you. Sadly, these people only understand ducking for cover when the projectiles come their way.

Guess its time to have their new site shut down as well!

They have totally underestimated the powers that be!

Very true, unfortunately. You’d think that having your domains suspended for spam-and-abuse would make this issue more of a priority. By not addressing & correcting the problem we’ll likely be seeing more instances of their domains being shutdown down for days at a time.

    Hi Everyone,

We are very happy to report that our client’s domains and our domains are all back
up and business can continue as usual!

All domains were blocked late Friday and it was impossible for us or our
Clients to get the listing sorted out as the registrars offices were closed till Monday. We can confirm that the Spam Complaints originated from other marketing efforts and none of our affiliates were involved.

Fortune Lounge does not condone Spamming. We appeal to you, our partners, to take Spam as seriously as we do. It is in both our interests to continue marketing in a Spam free environment and your co-operation to avoid any future spam complaints and registrar issues is essential. We will therefore continually update our Spam section, on our website to better assist you with e-mail Spam compliance. Furthermore, having domains registered with Go Daddy is proving to be a distinct problem, and we have responded by switching all of our domains to another registrar and Fortune Lounge have done the same.

Both new and old domains are now working.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and understanding during this time!

Contact us if you have any queries, comments or suggestions.

When Fortune starts terminating the accounts of affiliates who spam, then maybe we’ll pay more attention. This bit about not condoning spam is just lip service as proven by a number of posts and personal experiences that have been described in this very thread.

Sorry Tami. But Fortune have already proven that their words are hollow.
