From email Tuesday, March 03, 2009 12:27:43 PM
“All current URL and banner tag formats will still be supported until the end of April 2009, thereafter, however, no new players acquired from old banner tags can be assigned to your account.”
March 3, 2009 at 4:23 pm #796432AnonymousInactiveHUH?? Explain?
March 3, 2009 at 5:36 pm #796437AnonymousInactiveExplanation – Their email
“As part of our commitment to increase traffic and provide better tracking and reporting tools, Fortune Lounge will gradually change the way their brand URLs are structured, starting with Platinum Play.
We do, however, need your assistance in ensuring a smooth transition. The Platinum Play URLs have been changed in the Media Management system and all you need to do is to log into your account, go to “my existing items”, and copy the codes for Platinum Play creative that you have previously selected.
The other brand URLs will switch over on the following dates:
Platinum Play Bingo – 5 March 2009
Royal Vegas, 7Sultans, PokerTime and Vegas Palms – 17 March 2009
All remaining brands – 1 April 2009
All current URL and banner tag formats will still be supported until the end of April 2009, thereafter, however, no new players acquired from old banner tags can be assigned to your account. Therefore, we would like you to start following the above steps as soon as possible.“””
I positively hate it when casinos do this.
Especially with as little warning as this.My first reaction is “OK, I’ll change. I’ll change to some other casino group”!!!!!!!!
I was all set to start a fun new project today. Now I have to deal with this crud.

March 3, 2009 at 7:02 pm #796439AnonymousInactiveIn a follow up email entitled “We wish to clarify”, they say!
“All current URL and banner tag formats will still be supported until the end of April 2009, thereafter, however, no new players can be tracked using our new reporting and tracking system.”
My response
“Does that also mean that clicks on the old tags will not be tracked to me?
If so, where will these clicks/players end up? Will you get them or will they just get an error?
Need more clarification to understand how mad I should be!”Thank You!

i dont understand why you are getting so stressed out or even start bitching at them. FA is looking to introduce better stats to treat YOU and me with better information. they are doing it to provide a better service to its affiliates.
due to some programming limitations, most new stats programs require different tracking links, especially when the stats system was made years ago. no biggie here man.
March 3, 2009 at 10:56 pm #796450AnonymousInactiveI’m glad that you only have to change a few things on your sites.
With my new sites I change a few things and everythings fine. But if you’ve been doing sites for 12 years like I have and have more than 100 sites it takes a little longer to update it all. And yes, some deep pages still are listed after all that time and getting traffic. Consider 100 sites with 1,000 pages each. You are talking 100,000 pages where the old banner code may be lurking.
I just got done updating and fixing stuff for two months. Now I have to go back and do some more.
For sure, new systems give better results and change IS the name of the game.
It seems odd to me that a huge outfit would need to “Clarify” such an important email so soon. Maybe if I had gone to the CAP conventions I may have gotten “wind” of it earlier.
The unresolved question for me is “what happens to surfers clicking on old links”. Do they get credited to me under the old system, ( if so, for how long), do they get a general error or do they get “sucked up” as a house account.
March 5, 2009 at 3:43 pm #796537kirleyMemberAs part of its commitment to improving services to its business partners, Fortune Affiliates will be introducing a new standard in reporting and analysis. For us to achieve these deliverables we require you to update your current legacy media items. All new media items pulled from the Fortune Affiliates website after March 2009 will already reflect the changes required and do not need to be updated by you.
We will be rolling out these enhancements in a phased approach as per the schedule below. The updates that are required on your side can be made after the dates mentioned but not before.
• Platinum Play Bingo – 5 March 2009
• Royal Vegas, 7Sultans, Poker Time and Vegas Palms – 17 March 2009
• All remaining brands – 31 March 2009
BENEFITS OF THIS ENHANCED SERVICE TO YOU AS A FORTUNE AFFILIATE BUSINESS PARTNER
– The ability to track your own campaigns alongside FA campaigns for the purpose of optimization, tiered affiliate management etc.
– Full funnel tracking reporting (Providing data from impressions served down the funnel to acquisitions by campaign)
WHY A PHASED APPROACH?
The new URL structure and reporting system is being introduced in a phased manner to ensure that a stringent quality assurance process is followed for your protection. Taking a cautious, conservative and planned approach will ensure a seamless transition to the new system. Our affiliates are paramount to our operations, so you can be assured that every precaution on our part to maintain your tracking and accounts will be wholeheartedly undertaken by Fortune Affiliates.
WHAT ABOUT URLS THAT USE THE OLD TAGGING FORMAT?
All future marketing collateral (for new promotions and offers for example) that appear in the Media Management system will carry the new URL format.
The legacy format will be supported until the end of April 2009 where after all legacy formats will be tracked but not reported on.
Players you refer will always be attributed to your account going forward, even on the legacy tags, through an additional mapping process. However, the legacy tag system will not carry the robust reporting features offered by the new system that would allow you to better manage your marketing campaigns. We therefore highly recommend you move onto the new system in order to optimize your efforts.
SUPPORT AND YOUR FEEDBACK
We will gladly assist you with the transition to the new system. The Fortune Awards blog has been launched to give you assistance with implementing the new code, as well as to provide you with tips and best practices with growing your business as you work with us. Please feel free to ask for assistance or to give us feedback by contacting your Relationship Manager or by emailing [email protected].March 5, 2009 at 4:13 pm #796539AnonymousInactiveThanks for your clarification
As I understand it now, after the “new url structure and reporting system” is phased in, clicks/customers received/made under the old “legacy format” will be credited to our account, but without reporting stats.
If that is indeed the approach, that’s fine. That’s the most important part.
One question though. I’m assuming the “new url structure” has it’s own new banner code. At this time, how long do you anticipate supporting and serving the “legacy format” banners?

Email your rep and ask them to send you the creatives that you want. :hattip:
March 9, 2009 at 9:52 pm #796787AnonymousInactiveDid you ‘check out” & click the ad box again – you’ll get the code and they’ll email them too
April 18, 2009 at 1:43 am #798689AnonymousInactiveagree, many level of drop down menus need to go through, and wait for page reload as well
perhaps, selecting all variables at once using check boxes is simplier

Can you absolutely confirm that this was misworded in the original email sent out, and new players coming from any old banner tags WILL still be assigned to our account, just not with all the stat information?

I just want to be clear I understand.
April 20, 2009 at 12:38 am #798723AnonymousInactiveHello Anthony,
I have another question. I emailed my A.M a couple of times but didn’t receive a reply. I’d like to receive a reply before I start updating my links.
Here’s the question:
The Royal Vegas Casino “text links” and Vegas Palms Casino “banner and text links” don’t have the text /signup/ in the linking code. Is this correct, or an error in the linking codes?
May 1, 2009 at 11:37 am #799275AnonymousInactiveno replies of above issues ?
Also i noticed that last time i logged in,
some casino properties are still offering only the old link format.having /tagservlet/ in the affiliate links
pls confirm if ALL old links will be update to the new link format
Thanks
