trying to do everything at once was a big one for me.
you know.. spend 2-3 months getting everything right, all the data, info, template, graphics.. and then starting.now days its, get something up online from the the word go!
December 16, 2010 at 9:35 am #813822pavanagarwalMemberI must say that the urge to do everything at once is indeed very tempting. I try to put quality above quantity and focus on just a few things from a content perspective.
Rome wasn’t built in one day, so why should your business be?
I guess one of the most under rated aspects remains “patience”. Nowadays it’s certainly not realistic to expect big results after just a few months.
December 16, 2010 at 2:59 pm #813827nicknameMemberI think i would have set up a site that had nothing to do with poker, casino, bingo and sportsbetting affiliate programs .
December 17, 2010 at 12:00 pm #813841AnonymousGuestNot trusted anyone with any information that was valuable. Too many knives in the back.
December 17, 2010 at 11:08 pm #813845darknessMemberThings I wish I could different:
1. Finished College
2. Learned how to master SEO
3. Stayed in the Real Estate Market in 99 instead of move to Costa Rica and open a Sportsbook
4. Used investment capitol for Sportsbook to build monster casino, sports and poker forumWoulda coulda shoulda…
December 27, 2010 at 12:36 am #813905AnonymousInactiveI just jumped in without any knowledge of HTML or even know about SEO or even what the heck is a keyword. I wish I would have done at least a little research. Also, the url I choose is ok, but not very effective.
December 31, 2010 at 6:28 pm #813969EvelinessaMemberI would’ve stayed focused on the things that were going to help me accomplish my long-term goals, instead of just jumping from one thing to the next
January 7, 2011 at 3:42 am #814035PokerMentorMemberI also would not work with anyone else that I didn’t really know, I have major trust issues then and even more so today. my new motto is “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”

If I had to start over even though I have been in this game over ten years here are some changes I would make.
1) back in 2002 I launched VIP Profits which became an instant success in its own right and although I could of stayed with the program I moved on believing I could make more money elsewhere. For which I did in the end at a huge cost and loosing the one person I loved dearest as I belived I could find a new and better girlfriend in a different country than Curacao and this did not happen.
2) come 2003 I got involved with nine.com which became once again an overnight success and during this time I was helping out SBR and was offered a good stake in the business. Which I turned down as I believed I could do better by myself. How wrong I was. In the end I helped them out and made money but not close to what I would of earned.
3) back in 2007 after leaving VIP.com/Nine.com because of issues in the US market I started consulting for myself including work for sportsbetting.com and others. During this time I got involved with a very bad girl and if I could turn the clock back I wish I never met her. As she alone destroyed my life and made me move away from a country I loved. If I could of missed this chance meeting who knows where I could of been today.
Finally my biggest regret is never launching Sportsbook Affiliate Programs – Sportsbook Commission, Sportsbook Affiliate Forum earlier as I believe this in its own right would of done well.
There are many regrets but also many opportunities. If you try to avoid regrets all your life you will never come across those amazing opportunities.

i think the best way to learn is by learning by the mistakes of others, so I pose this question to all of you, whether an operator, affiliate, seo, whatever. I think that we can all contribute, and also learn from the mistakes of others to become better at what we do by sharing our thoughts as well
Knowing what you know today, if you had to start over in your business, what would you do differently?
I hope everyone can contribute something! Please share your thoughts, lessons, failures, etc. so we can all do things better
The Seo part will be more differently from my side and the page optimization with more unique content, and the last but not the least would be offerr by my site would be totally different.

I remember this. It was huge the way nine.com was being marketed and branded, a real turning point I think in our industry. I was a little envious.
