Norwegian laws are not suitable for advertising online casinos and even if I continue to promote in american text the competition is too high.
I see now other way that quiting, though I love those online casino affiliate stats! Now I still wanna get paid online and I hope someone here gives me a little direction and other suggestions of other affiliate programs than casino, that are more legally but still pay cash.
Best
AndreasFebruary 13, 2006 at 3:16 pm #683338AnonymousInactiveHey sorry to hear you have to quit. I may be doing the same thing shortly. Since the whole issue of legallity here in Canada regarding this industry is so unclear I am considering finding some other programs to try. Also since I want a career in law enforcement when I am done university having involvement in something that is potentially illegal would not look good!
So I started thinking the other night what products would I want to be affiliated with and promote? And it hit me! Promote something that you love or that is a hobby of yours. One of my hobbies is playing guitar, I have also built my own electric guitar. So I am considering starting a website dedicated to selling guitars and guitar products. There are a number of huge online musical instrument retailers that have affiliate programs so I think I will give that a shot. I like the whole idea of making a little extra money online. I do enjoy the casino and poker programs but gambling sure isn’t one of my big interests or hobbies so my advice is find something you are really interested in and love and then find affiliate programs related to that. I think this will make the experience more enjoyable and easier too, if you know a lot about what you are promoting.
Anyways, hope this helps a bit
Good luck!Tyler.
February 13, 2006 at 3:36 pm #683345AnonymousInactiveMy problem is that I am not an expert in anything special. I like religion and philosophy but books are not residual income. I dont gamble but when you get paid $1000 by one singel player in one months periode, its kind of sad to leave the gaming industry. .
February 13, 2006 at 3:51 pm #683346AnonymousInactiveYa, I understand. The commissions you can make with gambling affiliate programs are very attractive. Probably the highest paying programs I have seen. But there are programs for electronics that could possibly be quite profitable, some software programs can do well. Check this link out http://www.i-z.com/index.html they offer dvd copying software, 60% commissions. I promoted DVD Wizard Pro for quite a while and did pretty good, but then they changed there affiliate provider and I had to change my link and everything but just didn’t bother because I got into the casino and poker programs.
Here is a good affiliate forum, maybe you can get some suggestions here..

its getting harder here in Holland also……regarding law and such things….
but did u know there is some money in selling books on the internet?
think of all books for schools etc.
delivery and payment is faster than in a real bookstoretake care:)
February 13, 2006 at 6:41 pm #683368AnonymousInactiveNiches for Affiliates are not longer available on the internet if you think in terms of Search Engines.
If you check CJ or Linkshare all merchants are involved in high audience products.
Maybe for a product owner, if he has a very special stuff, there are still niches availables.
If you want money from Aff. Programs you have to face a fierce competence.
It is the same for casinos, books, marketing, hosting, travel, sports etc.
To make money in this industry you have to sell products in high demand.Building a website around a hobby could be great.
Mainly they profit from contextual advertising (Adsense ans others).
But anyway to make some commission profit you need a huge audience.
Not a niche audience.February 13, 2006 at 6:49 pm #683373AnonymousInactiveYou can try to look here http://www.affcommunity.com/index.php?

February 21, 2006 at 12:23 am #684148AnonymousInactivewhy don’t you set up an offshore company to run the business?
This way you would solve all your issues.

I wouldn’t quit just because the competition is fierce. Quiting always reminds me of the three types of people:
1. those who watch thing happen
2. those who make things happen
3. those who wonder what the hell happenedMake it happen! blow through the competition. Make your site honest, true and don’t stop until you have reached your goal. Go and grab your piece of pie. This Online Gambling market by 2010 will be double, by then you will be flying.
I too am a Philosophy major studied the stuff for about eight years. It really screwed my head up for a while. Nothing like a good dose of reality. Philosophy puts you in a real good position for law. I wrote the entry examine for Law here in Canada its called the lsat, passed with flying colors. I can argue my way out of paper bag. Was it not Descartes who said ” I can’t see the trees through the forest ” in his book Discourse on Method. See your future and become your furture and if things work out with this Gambling Stuff, grab yourself a piece of marble slab and just sit there and conteplate.

Does this mean that if you live outside the forbidden place but still market you are not under the law as you are not inside the land where the law is?
Take me for example, Im greek but live in norway. Could I add my greek name and the house we have in greece and advertise for casinos in norway? Would that be legal?
