InactiveThat is total BS they are still targeting players but totally ignoring us affiliates!!

MemberEither:
a) They are hoping to bring in some money to start paying the exisiting back log of player and affiliate debts.
or
b) They are exiting soon and decided to get what they can before that happens and words gets out.

InactiveI hear they will be making an announcement this weekend from one of my inner contacts. We will see if that ends up being the case. I certainly hope so.

You mean at CAP?

InactiveOk, I see.
Jetset writes at Meister:
I think they may be deliberately misleading players here, because we have it from very reliable sources that Firebrand-Player Preferred were told by the owners of Hype to shut the casino down on April 30 after a confrontation on allegedly missing funds.
The owners were then locked out, but the casino continues in operation. In my opinion that suggests:
1) That Firebrand-PP have between April 30 and last week found someone new to take over Hype without telling the owners. I regard that as unlikely given the time available and the reputation the casino has accrued for slow-paying of late. In any event, PP could take a Microgaming-like stance and stand behind a failed owner by paying the players who are owed.
2) That Firebrand-PP don’t want to be seen as having another owner depart and are running the operation “cloaked” themselves to keep up appearances until they can find another “owner” for it.
Either way this is deceptive.
It is very disappointing that Sorensen and his partner at Nix Court Pty Limited who owned Hype have not cleared their names by issuing a public statement and making arrangements for players and affiliates to be paid to the date of their exit. I have been repeatedly told that these Aussies were honourable men, and this was an opportunity for them to prove it imo.

InactiveI believe there are a lot more details to this one… I don’t think the above are great things to publicize unless they are 100% accurate. Conjecture just makes things a lot worse.
I hope to hear a public statement here at CAP this weekend, but that remains to be seen. Personally, I think they are going to make things right because that is the only option they have outside of shutting down PP (and I think that is highly unlikely)

InactiveIt’s not just jetset saying that, in operator circles it is also believed to have happened this way.
I sure hope they are going to make things right.
I thought this statement was supposed to have happened last night?
May 12, 2007 at 7:39 pm #736570Anonymous
InactiveI know that is the common thought, but there are always 2 sides to every story. Maybe that is 100% the truth, who knows. I’m sure both parties would not tell the same story.
I just want to see things put right and I am afraid if we all make public conjectures that it may hurt the brand enough to make it not ‘worthy’ to resurrect. If this is the case – who knows if we will get paid.
Before it is said… YES, I know the brand is already hurt significantly. However – it is still resurrectable IMO at this point by public announcements, future pay on times, and better PR.
BTW – I don’t know when the statement is supposed to happen, but had heard it was soon.

MemberSorry Kwblue I like the team at Hype, but its too little, too late.
Dom their certification at CAP is suspended.
I am leaving the door open for a return if they somehow repair all the damage they managed to do to themselves. I also left their forum open for communication purposes, but I dont feel like they will be able to rehabilitate the brand or that they are taking the right approach to do so.
Remaining silent and not communicating with Affiliates and Players is a piss poor approach to doing business and it displays a lack of integrity IMO.

InactiveJust got this… Very interesting email:
Dear hpmueller,We are the licensee of the Software for Hype Gaming Casino and we have been monitoring the situation regarding Hype Casino not paying their affiliates. Affiliates are very important to us as they promote and provide value to our casino clients.
Therefore we will not stand by and allow this to continue.
The Licensee has regretfully suspended Hype Management from Managing Hype Casino.
We wish to firstly advise that all Players Payments are absolutely safe and are being paid as the licensee will ensure that this is covered.
We have made a request to the previous Hype Management to immediately pay their affiliates and we have given them 72 hours to respond.
After this time has expired we will write to you again and advise if we have been successful and what the next steps we intend to take are.
We ask that you please provide us this time to allow us to attempt to retrieve your monies from the previous Hype Management.
Thank you for your patience and we wish to reinforce that we will not allow Casino Operators to not pay Affiliates.
Yours Faithfully
Casino Licensee
Very generic and I almost felt it was spam from someone trying to take advantage of the situation ,but the header shows it DOES come from Firebrand Interactive… Which means it is legit.May 14, 2007 at 12:04 pm #736705vladcizsol
MemberSo Hype management basically absconded with Player and Affiliate Funds and the Player Prefered is trying to recover these funds for us? If “Hype” refuses to belly up to the bar then PP will cover the debts?
May 14, 2007 at 12:07 pm #736706vladcizsol
MemberI just receievd the same notice so this is public. I am going to post this in Hype forum for everyone else who desnt have access to the private areas.

I certainly hope this is the first step towards resolution.
I do know that players are being paid because I have a list of players that were not being paid.. and many of them have been paid in the last week (although there are a few that still need to be paid).
I do recall, when I was doing some extensive research into Hype with a couple others (including Jetset), a conversation I had with the PP owners… During that conversation it was stated that players would NEVER be stuck without being paid. It was said that Player Preferred would always cover any bad debts from a casino operator much like Microgaming does.
I hope this proves true.
The email is promising, IMO.
