Sorry if Im asking too many questions….
So it seems most people had to work 18 months + before seeing financially significant results… not suprising since white hat seo seems to be the best strategy in this industry..
But Im wondering how many sites did people build in their first 18 months? Were all your sites a success? What do you think made some of your sites better than others?
Thanks in advance (also, how do i thank people on this forum software?)
January 12, 2008 at 11:57 pm #758563AnonymousInactiveYou are going to get a lot of different answers to this one.
I built one single site.
January 13, 2008 at 2:25 am #758571AnonymousInactiveONE site.
It’s changed a lot – but it’s the same site GoonersGuide.com.

I started with one site and then built a second one three years later.
January 13, 2008 at 5:49 am #758576Daddy CoolMemberInteresting dilemma. Im split in two minds over this. Brand name v Specific mini sites. Ive stumbled over goonersguide and would go back – brand name. ive found mini specific sites interesting but forgettable
January 13, 2008 at 1:28 pm #758583AnonymousInactiveI built 1 site and a year later built another. After that, probably 1 new site every 6 months or so.
It’s VERY difficult to keep content fresh across multiple sites, though.

Really nice looking site, by the way. But how do you monetize it? Through casino clients paying for inclusion?
(btw…your link to Bodog is out of date ie its now bodoglife.com)

The original idea behind the site was that the casinos could edit the information on their page themselves, to include tournaments and upcoming events or whatever, and that they would pay a small monthly fee for access to the edit page. But there was very little interest for me so now here I am, trying to make a buck off of being an affiliate…..I am a newbie and a half so Im a bit lost! You must be a Bodog affiliate?
January 15, 2008 at 12:49 pm #758706AnonymousInactiveI like the site and idea, but you will need to build up traffic before you get any takers.
Also, most places don’t have the staff to spend time on these things…
I think your idea is good but there is a lack of interest in branding in this leg of the industry. IMO, that’s a mistake the industry makes.

January 16, 2008 at 3:56 am #758777Namibiya69MemberIm on my 12th month now and I have two sites. I plan on making another one in a different niche in the future, probably a few months, so I anticipate that I will probably have 3 in my first 18 months.
I heard that its easier to make $1000 of 10 websites than it is to make $1000 off one, so I kept that in mind and started to branch out.
Although, I would never make a half-assed site. I like to keep all my sites in check and add content as best as I can, so I think 3 is going to be my maximum for now. I wouldnt want any getting left behind because I have no time for them.
February 5, 2008 at 6:45 pm #760140KamielMMemberThat’s a really nice looking site as well Inersha, Did you design it yourself? Do you mind me asking if it runs off a CMS?
February 6, 2008 at 1:42 am #760169aaronsmithMemberI just built the one site
February 25, 2008 at 7:53 pm #761779SonyBravoMemberI am building my fourth site now, after 18 months. The first year i was just trying to refine my initial site. The lessons I ve learned from that I ve put into use in my other sites.
