Hi everyone,
I’m new to this and I’m creating an online casino affiliate site in several languages! Now I’d like to know what host to use! I’m living in France but on previous site projects I’ve always made good experience with hostgator.com (USA)! Is this also a good host for casino affiliate site or what else would you suggest/or what do you use!
Thx a lot!

I like xtraorbit. The accept Moneybookers too.

September 20, 2011 at 3:48 pm #818600AnonymousInactiveFrom an SEO perspective, the ideal scenario is to host in the main market you are targeting (i.e. if you’re targeting UK customers, then host in the UK). Some will argue that this doesn’t matter as much anymore, etc. but from the experts I’ve spoken to lately, it does.

Warren what do you think about using a .co.uk domain but having it hosted in the US, Do you think it would be better to host it in the Uk? And the other way to, a .com hosted in the UK

with .com, .org, and .net they are geo neurtral – hosting them in the country you want to rank for is not necessary. To have them rank well in a specific country, you should do a couple of things, set the country for it in google webmaster tools (not necessary.. but should), and also get them into geo local directories and links. This will tell google, that this geo neutral domain is targeting that geographic area.

Oh sorry. I use them for a non-gaming site. Guess you’d have to ask them.

for my affiliate site I’m looking for a good UK host! They should offer Whois privacy! What can you recommend?
THXOctober 23, 2011 at 12:00 pm #819141igamingeliteMemberMake sure you target the site in Webmaster Tools to your targetted country, this helps a lot for Google.
In terms of hosting location, it’s wrong to assume the hosting location is an important ranking factor. Just take several ‘big’ niches beside casino as well and you’ll find enough sites being hosted in offshore countries and still ranking among top5.

It’s also wrong to assume it’s not! There was a test done, by a friend of mine with sports betting website, testing the Google target function, and the hosting country and just how much they affect rankings.
In the global search site A that had only Google Webmaster Geo set, outranked site B hosted in the UK, but when a local search was made (Search in pages with UK only), site B outranked site A.
Make no mistake a lot of people use this option, so if you wanna get the highest possible ranking for a given country you better host it there. I know it’s a stupid method that Google implies, but this is what it is, and we have to go with it.
@seb About hostgator, have you read their T & Cs lately:Examples of unacceptable material on all Shared and Reseller servers include:
