Hey all,
I’d like the have input about homepages, since I’m rebuilding an old website which I had started but never finished.I’ve been here for years, I’ve built and managed 7 websites over the past few years, gambling and non-gambling related, but I always have an issue with designing the homepage, which is the beacon. Always feel like I’m leaving out something good. Actually if you look at the FF website in my sig, you can see how messy the homepage is (though it was like that when I bought it). What do you consider important?
Here’s my short list of general homepage features:
– some sort of news function (website news, special offers etc)
– article headlines
– newsletter subscription feature somewhere (I really believe in newsletters)
– I always put a short list of recommended promoted sportsbooks/casinos (the ones that stand out)
– Odds for the day (in the case of my sportsbetting website)
– Latest forum posts (but I rarely use forums)
– Poll (Give the people what they like)Anything important I’ve been missing? What seems to catch people’s attention on your homepage?
