Is it just me or do you feel their has been an extrordinary amount of affiliate managers who have moved on and it seems like out of the gaming biz. Some old timers as well, what is causing this, are we burning em out?

Well, some have made lateral moves, like Jonjon and Marlo. Although they do not seem to be profitable moves at all.

Other than that, yes, an unusual number are leaving the business.

    Tightening belts in the industry?

Seems to go hand in hand with an unusual number of aquisitions this year.

    Casinos being bailed out?

on the poker front Shenaz left bodog and went to Absolute, interesting change.

I’m actually surprised by how little movement we’ve seen, on all levels–not just with aff management. The online gaming industry is so competitive I’d imagine we’re seeing only the beginning of change.

With so much money on the line, it’s reasonable to expect that any marketer’s job security will ride on each month’s numbers–fall short a couple months in a row, and there’ll be someone in line to take your job. Piss off a good aff or a good publisher and you’ll be handed your walking papers. The same holds true for all departments–retention, promotions, etc. There’s just too much money riding on things, now.
