InactiveInteresting.
I did some research of my own last week, and I remember WagerShare was very unusual compared to the other brands I looked at.
My research consisted of looking at the cookies dropped by each affiliate program as I clicked on my own referral links. Most of the programs use cookies; a few don’t. Not every program uses cookies. Some use a tracking URL instead — the tracking URL stays in the address bar as you browse the casino site.
The WagerShare casinos baffled me because they don’t use cookies, nor do they use tracking URLs. If neither of these methods are used, how exactly are the referrals tracked? :eh:

InactiveHi wrreid
I’ve just put some test visits and downloads through on your account (there were already visits and a download on your account contrary to your post) and they came through as expected. Please can you show me the link you are using to send traffic to the casinos as the only way that visit data isn’t showing is if the link syntax you are using is incorrect.
Further to this, we only show unique downloads in our statistics, so if you go to Spin Palace via your link and click the download button 5 times, it will only show as one download.
If you can show me the link you’re using I can investigate this further.
Engineer – we do use tracking urls which is why your link syntax will be in the form http://www.spinpalace.com/index.asp?s=wgsXXXXX&a=wgsaffadX. We then take the affiliate and affiliate adid information and hold it in a session variable. You can see down in the status bar when the page loads information like affiliate id, visit id and affiliate adid. Feel free to browse around the site, you’ll see that the information remains constant from page to page.
If you have any other queries please don’t hesitate to ask.
Best regards,
Tim Whyles

InactiveHi wrreid
Assuming that you are using the correct link I think I’ve found the source of the confusion. On our stats page it still says that visit and download data is updated in realtime. Due to loads on the servers we’ve had to reduce the frequency at which the visit data is updated. It can now take up to 5 minutes for visit and download data to appear on your account.
I’ll make sure that the designers change the copy on the page to reflect this.
If this was indeed the reason why you didn’t think your visits were being tracked then I’m sorry for the confusion.
Best regards,
Tim

InactiveThanks for looking into this Tim for my friend wrreid. I will check this out personally and try to get Wager Share out of the none recommended area. I know it can be very hard to manage all the affiliates but wrreid has kept it quit for 3 month for us to do some real research. If all is good with the stats and the future stats, we will properly remove wager share and start recommending you guys.Cheers :drunk2:

InactiveHi,
How long is the session variable good for? Since session variables are memory resident by definition (server memory,) they are generally set to expire after 20 minutes at most. That’s where cookies come in handy.

Someone please correct me if I misunderstood.
Bingoadvantage, you bring up an interesting point about the sessions expiring after a certain amount of time (even if the browser is not closed). I’d like to know the answer to that myself.

InactiveHi Guys
The session remains active as long as the browser is open, this holds true even if the session is idle for long periods of time.
Best regards,
Tim
