Regarding the posting by ‘Just Red’, we believe resorting to bullying tactics by some Affiliates to be unacceptable and inappropriate. It appears that when an Affiliate does not get what they want, albeit not entirely accurate or not due, they resort to negative and destructive criticism on a reputable forum. We at GSN are certainly not a sinking ship and maintain strong and growing relationships with many reputable Affiliates; neither are we a ‘one woman show’ and have acted in good faith in attempting to resolve all matters, even if not as quick as all would like. Furthermore, payments have not been made against the account in question for years, as has been alleged. Although we at GSN are still of the opinion that moneys are not due on this account, we believe the only way to stop the ongoing attack on our Affiliate program, and to allow us to continue focusing on our objective of growing our properties and Affiliates, is to simply pay ‘Just Red’ the amount in question. We will do the payment today.

Please be advised that Management are discussing the GSN terms issues as mentioned by the Professor and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

If there are further questions please contact me at any time on

Honorable thing to do.. paying when you don’t belive you owe.. I’ve always thought it must suck to be an affiliate manager when your program is under fire.. Kind of an in the middle spot to be in ..

    I do have a couple questions though…

Can you tell us what a ‘Campaign Accout’ is so that this is something we can be sure not to accidentally get involved with in the future?

If Just Red belives he/she is owed, and your program does not, but has decided to pay for PR purposes.. will he/she continue to be paid affiliate commisions earned in the coming months for referred players? 13k is quite a chunk, I would imagine there must be some decent repeat players there.. assuming we are talking rev share..

    Hi Lady H,

A campaign account, arises when the Affiliate Program does a deal with a web master or Online advertiser, to advertise certain of the Programs’ properties via a specific campaign for a fixed fee and period, without any ongoing revenue share. This Campaign could be geo targeted or a specific online mailer or through specific web publishers associated with the webmaster.

GSN uses our Affiliate System / Application to track and measure the performance of campaigns, which is why it is possible for a webmaster to have a Campaign as well as an Affiliate account. The destiction between an Affiliate and Campaign account is normally clear; the ‘Justred’ incident is a first and hopefully the last for our Program.

Regarding ‘Justred’, we will continue to pay them any future commissions arising on this account.

For further queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

    Kindest Regards

    Hi All

I would like to confirm that GSN has resolved this issue amicably, and we have been paid. I would like to commend Kate on her prefessionalism in dealing with the issue and I certainly got the impression she “batted for the affiliate” all along.

Kate, my posts here are not intended to harm you. They are to keep the affiliate community informed, which is exactly what this forum is for.

Any affiliate group joins this form under the pretense that there will be trransparency when it comes to these kinds of issues. Else I am totally missing the point.

As far as the T&C’s go, I do agree that they have to change…

We view our active Affiliates as valuable Partners, with whom we will continue to strengthen and grow our relationships in a mutually beneficial manner.

We believe that by simply removing a clause from our terms and conditions, which was included therein as far back as June 2003 and deals with inactive Affiliates, could compromise the viability of our program; thus compromising ourselves as well as those active and dedicated Affiliates.

However, it is apparent that the existence of this clause, in its current format, is offending the very Affiliates whom we intended protecting; although in our opinion will never be affected by such a clause. In view of this concern, Golden Star Network, a program which strives to build and strengthen relationships with its Affiliates, has decided to amend this clause, so as to ensure that ‘Dormant Affiliates’ will continue to be paid a commission for the lifetime of these old players but at a different Commission Rate.

The clause will now read as follows: –

Should an Affiliate not refer a minimum of 1 (one) New Real Purchasing Player for a consecutive 2 month period, the affiliates ‘Player Referral Commission’ will revert back to our base commission percentage of 25%. Should an Affiliate not refer a minimum of 1 (one) New Real Purchasing Player for a consecutive 4 month period, the affiliates ‘Player Referral Commission’ will be reduced to half of our base commission percentage, namely to a percentage of 12.5%. The Affiliates account will not be terminated under these circumstances and the Affiliate will continue to be paid a commission, albeit at a lower rate, for the Life Time of such players.

Thus our Program will continue to reward Affiliates for their historic efforts, but in the interest of the program and its active affiliates, we will reduce the commission level to a more sustainable one.

We will continue to encourage and assist any willing inactive affiliate to improve their site in a manner which is mutually beneficial and conducive to generating new purchasing players, so as to generate increased revenue for both the Affiliate and the Affiliate Program.

Well, it’s time for me to get busy removing your casinos. I have them on many, many pages on both of my sites. Right now my signups are few and far between. At the present time, I have no active players in your casinos. I have sent you visitors, which YOU did not convert. I mean look at your casinos. Except for Golden Riviera, no new games have EVER been added to your flash casinos.

I’m not sending you any players, if there is even the slightest chance of you reducing my percentage in the future. Why reduce a percentage on players you would never even see in the first place if it was not for the affiliate?

Several people give casinos placement on their sites according to how well they do with them. You expect people to give you better placement to avoid having their commission reduced. That is nothing but extortion and blackmail.
