Yeah, I had around 100 downloads and about 80 clicks and not one single real money player or any player activity. I´ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now but it is a pretty rubbish conversion rate, that´s for sure!
August 20, 2006 at 5:11 pm #702764AnonymousInactiveHi All,
We also received the exact same email, this is a first for us.
I really do not appreciate the heavy handed approach and now seeing that this is part of a “campaign” is totally not acceptable. Maybe your group should contact your non-producers and see what you can do to develop a relationship, instead of sending out these threat emails.I did reply to the original email and got this response…
Dear Jamie,Thank you so much for understanding we are definitely not cancelling your account and we are without a doubt looking forward to working on a new strategy to bring in more players. Please sit on it and think about it over the weekend and Kate will be in touch with you on Monday.
Kindest Regards
Gayle
I think this program was a HUGE strategic blunder by GSN and the person who developed this as a “concept” should not be working with affiliate partners. We are not very active with GSN but if we did have many active players and a dormant affiliate account, I would be FURIOUS. The fact that you even mentioned that you were exercising your rights to revoke an affiliate relationship and keep the active players…leads me to believe that you may do this in the future. Why should we bother promoting GSN?
Professor, I think a full review of the T&C of Goldenstar is in order here to ensure this predatory practice is controlled and affiliates are protected. What’s to say they don’t make all the accounts dormant in the near future…
Kate, what do you mean when you say “On that note, i have had a couple meetings already with my seniors, and we are hoping to find a solution that will enable us to do so with a positive outcome for both parties involved.
Please be aware that we are still in discussion, and i will revert back to you next week after our final meeting.”
So basically….affiliates marketing your properties are at risk until your team gets there act together.
August 20, 2006 at 5:20 pm #702766AnonymousInactiveIt’s time for another statement. It’s been a while.
August 20, 2006 at 6:45 pm #702773AnonymousInactiveDo not promote them, well not until they give full disclosure and we hear from the top brass (the owners) that they will stop all their funny business.
GSN used to be owned by good honest folk. We did really well with them and had a great relationship. At that time we did not promtoe Vegas Partners for NUMBER of reasons. Then they bought GSN, We stopped promoting GSN immediately.
If you are stuck finding a good casino to promote, try G3 Partner. I have a funny feeling its the old GSN guys in a new guise.

No, it’s just Jon-Jon. He knows how to communicate with and take care of affiliates.
August 22, 2006 at 8:55 am #703012AnonymousInactiveApologies for the late response to all the previous posts, i have been un available for a couple of days, due to an unforseen tragedy.

August 28, 2006 at 11:28 pm #703764AnonymousInactiveI can confirm that we have been told that because our account is not an affiliate account but a “campaign account”, we will not be paid the 13K owed to us. Now that’s an interesting argument if ever I heard one.
I have never heard of a campaign account. We are affiliates, We do affiliate deals. End of.
We have been paid on this account for about three years. That sounds like an affiliate account to me, No?We are simply not going to accept this, and I urge everyone in the same boat not to.

August 28, 2006 at 11:41 pm #703765AnonymousInactiveThis is starting to sound like a sinking ship.
August 28, 2006 at 11:44 pm #703766AnonymousInactiveYeah it’s very disappointing. We had a great relationship with Marlo and the previous owners. We brought them a lot of players. Now this. I know they have changed hands, but that is no excuse.
August 29, 2006 at 12:33 am #703771AnonymousInactiveIt does seem like things are getting stalled now on purpose:confused:

All these years in the business and I never heard of such a thing.
August 29, 2006 at 1:51 am #703781AnonymousInactiveUgh. I’ve just waded through this thread having ignored it previously (as I don’t work with GSN).
Shoddy, shoddy tactics .. what do we have here ….
– Threatening to close accounts
– Bullying for higher coverage
– Pretending to be discussing tactics at highest level to intimidate
– Complete in action by the affiliate manager which appears to make GSN to be a one woman show
– and now we hear about $13K held over in a “campaign account” ??I promised Professor that I’d be good (after 888 schmozzle) …
So if I can’t say anything nice about GSN’s performance here then ….

:woo-hoo:August 29, 2006 at 2:00 am #703784vladcizsolMemberGuys I have been working with Piere on this issue and the active affiliates terms currently in place. Lets see where that goes, I have a feeling they will be taking the high road on this one soon.
August 29, 2006 at 2:01 am #703785AnonymousInactiveTop man Professor.
