Why is that thread unpinned? It is still a very serious subject and needs to be addressed imo
February 3, 2009 at 8:15 pm #794370AnonymousInactiveI have no idea, I did not unpin it.
I also want to know what is happening with that.
February 3, 2009 at 11:04 pm #794386vladcizsolMemberIt is a very serious issue and we are still pursuing it. The problem is Grand Prive did not meet with us in London as planned so we are in a holding pattern and they basically told us to come to South Africa to discuss matters further. I posted an advisory and asked everyone to maintain pressure on Villa Fortuna and Grand Prives existing operations, but I was asked to stay retired for political reasons and removed the post.
February 3, 2009 at 11:51 pm #794388AnonymousInactiveOk if you can give me a statement of sorts I will be happy to go post it for you dear let me also tell you that the rumor that was going around was you cancelled the meeting but there were plenty of rumors to go around this event…lol
February 4, 2009 at 1:30 am #794393vladcizsolMemberThe meeting was eagerly anticipated by us, but it was postponed for unknown reasons to me.
Warren told me they told him we could go to South Africa if we wished to discuss things in depth. I am not giving up though and once I get back to the US I am going to ask Warren to get all the principals on a conference call to decide what, if anything, Grand Prive/Villa Fortuna is willing to do to rectify the situtaion. I also intend to continue to remind Microgaming and eCogra that this sort of rogue behavior by a single operator tarnishes the fine reputation they have earned over the years with affiliates and players.
On the subject of rumors….
Since the antagonists involved have no real substance to offer they put out an endless string of rumors and exagerations. Though I love CAP and our members and the events all these other circus acts are really tiresome and seem to be orchestrated by Marc Lesnick.
I hope the other “people” involved are sincere in their desire to move forward in a positive direction instead of this mud trail we have been slogging through for the past few months. We have so many wonderful things planned for 2009 and these constant distractions are annoying, but will ultimately change nothing. CAP will grow and prosper despite their efforts.
Tell you what I am still shocked about is the hypocrisy of some of the new folks who jumped on the band wagon. Bryan Bailey was at the CAP Awards and CAP Euro and we spoke frequently and cordially. We will post the pictures of he and I and Ted Loh at the events and I think most everyone saw it. Yet when he returned to Germany the friendly behavior flwe out the window and the negative shenanigans started again at CM. Dom you and Christine were actually at the events and you saw the truth. We had a great show with nearly 1700 affiliates and operators in attendence throughout the events. Evreyone had a great time and the parties were fabulous.
Yes, I did call Jay Toad out and I dont apologize for that, I know its hard to understand but he has really crossed the line personally with me and I would love to settle it once and for all. Call me an ogre but so be it. I am old school and men dont disrepsect other men without some sort of consequence. Its a man thing, blame testosterone.
I didnt see continuous fires or anyone running with buckets of water in hand to put them out. It was a great event and Amsterdam will be twice the size of London and even more fun and productive.
I did apologize to Steve and Michael Corfman for acting out after Jay Toad riled me up and I do regret that Steve was ejected by hotel security. We all had a two hour meeting the next day. So hopefully that is a start to a new peace.
But, to be totally honest, we did not invite GPWA or APCW to the event and we rejected their applications for tickets based upon their extremely hostile behavior over the past few months. They were well aware of this. They had no business turning up and solicting our clients and members at a CAP event. And I stand by that. We didnt turn up in Las Vegas at their “event” and they should have had the same courtesy. Any resulting incidents were their fault and clearly set up to cause embarassment to CAP. It wasnt an accident or unfortunate coincidence.
Needless to say this is not the politically correct view others in my organization share so I wont post it publically, but I would hope I can at least discuss this with my moderators and old friends.
Enough venting for now. I have an early plane to catch. Chat with you guys privately when its expedient to do so.
February 4, 2009 at 1:45 am #794395AnonymousInactiveThe thing is that people are playing you, they know you get angry and they are counting on it to create negative publicity surrounding you. Anger doesn’t sell, ever. It always makes you look to be in the wrong, regardless what the situation is.
There were a number of fires, mostly upset aff managers and they did need putting out.
We sorely need good publicity and Grand Prive would certainly be that, everyone wants to see that solved and it would be a big positive for CAP to solve something of that caliber just about now. I was much hoping for that to happen.
February 4, 2009 at 1:49 am #794396vladcizsolMemberYou know what it’s funny. I am considered an embarassment now by some of my team mates, but I was told I have to be in Cancun and Amsterdam. Marie and I will be there as usual and have a great time, as usual. I will just shut up on the boards as requested and until my health is 100% again. I love CAP and all of you guys too much to do anything else

Hi Lou,
I completely understand and I’m sorry that I friggen got food poisoning the night before my trip during my anniversary dinner and was sick as a dog.
I can’t believe that they showed up and I told Anthony weeks ago that it was NOT a good idea for them to attend.
My feeling is that things happen for a reason and maybe it was best that i was not there because I may have would up in trouble as well after seeing you get so upset. Just glad it’s over.
February 4, 2009 at 3:02 am #794400AnonymousInactiveI doubt anyone considers you an embarrassment dear but as Dom said some were enjoying getting the best of you. I think you have to show some restraint and not let them get to you so much and I think to save CAP a bit we need to have some definite clean up and settle down some of these upset managers. Lesnic going around and having private meetings with most if not all the MG managers was not a huge help either. I have to agree at this point your going to need to take a public break from CAP Lou because things are not good right now in the public eye. I am very sure your friends and colleagues are not against you but want to see the community safe and unharmed.
I was there I heard the rumors and I made sure to take pics with all those involved to show that all of the parties involved where allowed into the parties and the convention hall. I did my best to dispel any that I heard and I set the GPWA staff straight when I heard them telling tall lies etc
February 4, 2009 at 1:01 pm #794435AnonymousInactiveWhat happened, happened and it’s over. I know how you feel, Lou, we were side by side at CAP during all the growth and I totally understand how hard it must be for you not to post.
I cannot believe that Michael did not know what would happen, I think you were deliberately played. I didn’t show for a couple of GPWA meetings even though I theoretically was welcome and was right next door – because I knew the mess it would create if I had. There are a couple of GPWA members who would have lost it, and I knew it.
Michael knows you well enough to know you blow your top and get angry. It was deliberate. You were an easy, predictable target and the disruption was intentional. That is the logic I see.
I agree that you need to go to the conferences. You have a great personality and you know your stuff and CAP will always need you. I also agree you should take a break from CAP posting, I am sure the biz in the background will more than take up your time.
We need to dispell some of the crap going around, we need to stop banning folks and deal with issues as they come up. Forums thrive on a bit of controversy anyways, and we can have polite discussions of anything, even with some belligerent folks involved, we can keep them posting politely and disband their opinions as long as mods are equally polite and work in tandem.
Besides, CAP is getting a bit boring, everyone agreeing to everything all the time is not really good for a board.
So what will happen with Grand Prive now? When are you going to SA?
February 6, 2009 at 7:49 am #794612vladcizsolMemberDom I am going to take a short break from posting. But I have two shows coming up that require promotion. If I dont do that then the Marc Lesnics of the world win and it will be a huge blow to CAP. My not posting will not placate him or stop the negative attacks.
The handful of negative people running their mouths at Casinomeister dont support CAP and NEVER will and it doesnt really matter. In fact most are players and really dont undertsand anything about our industry. They just enjoy the emotional high they get when they post on boards and jump on their empty soap boxes. The few that claim to be affiliates are so unsuccesful they cant afford a bus ticket to Peoria much less a plane ticket to Europe and a hotel room. They will stay in their basement and bitch and moan and nothing will change that.
When GPWA threw you out we welcomed you with open arms and made you a senior moderator at CAP. We didnt say “Dom it would be easier if just stayed quiet for now” Let me ask you this…. If anyone told you “Dom it would be a great idea if you walked away from GamesandCasinos for awhile because Caruso, Greek39, Cindy Carley, Lottso and Mr Racetrack dont like you” What would be your response? I doubt you would say “Great idea, let me vanish and not even thank people who make a positive post in my forums”
We all chatted for hours in London and Michael and Steven Corfman both said they were not going to continue the negative attacks and would promote all future CAP events with the exception of CAP Euro Amsterdam. They also agreed to preview J Toads vidoes and ensure they werent inflamatory towards CAP, Myself or Warren” So peace is hopefully going to solidify and that static stops. Marc will continue on but Gambling 911 is willing to lay off if we pay them. So watch and see what happens.
So thats where we are at.
Dom if I cant post or even thank positive posts by members its silly to expect me to fly to SA. Like I said we will try to get this worked out via phone conferences and I have not given up on fixing that issue. If you think more can be acheived in person I will happily pay for a plane ticket and a nice hotel for you if you want to go. It’s just too far for CAP Staff to travel there unless we are sure a positive outcome will happen.
Going to bed now. Have a great weekend all.:hattip:
February 6, 2009 at 12:13 pm #794634AnonymousInactiveI”m so glad that you said what you did Lou, because I’m going to come out and say that it’s BS that you can’t post at CAP just to please a few folks! If it was me I would NOT cave in to that. Take a break, but do it how you want to do it.
I personally don’t think is fair or necessary, but due to the fact that I have the higest respect for you Dom I’ll just leave it at that.
February 6, 2009 at 1:08 pm #794642AnonymousInactiveThe non posting is obviously temporary – the main reason being that you announced for the second time in a short period that you would withdraw from CAP.
So it looks better if you actually follow through and take a vacation for a couple months – and me thinks a resolution with Grand Prive will give you the perfect grand entry back. You’ll be a hero and your announcement that you will withdraw will look good too – you had other fish to fry, you fried them and you are back with success. You did it for affiliates.
It looks like a great solution to me… and one that enhances your credibility and image and makes some of the discreditors look like fools.
You have a unique opportunity here – neither Michael nor Bryan are able to accomplish anything and us affiliates need this solved badly.
I wish I could mail you and confer with you, we need to communicate again to sort daily crap that comes up like we used to, especially while you are not posting. My mails don’t bounce, they just go unanswered….. :hattip:
February 6, 2009 at 2:31 pm #794657AnonymousInactiveLou as with what Dom said we are in no way ever ever suggestion you leave your ship, that would never happen because I know as a forum owner you wake up to look in on your baby and you don’t go to bed without tucking in the baby. Like she said it is just a lets show them your sticking to your word take a few weeks off that’s all and come back HARD core and show all these assholes that your a force to be reckoned with. As far as Lesnic goes everyone knows that man is a snake and scumbag! London was a massive success and I have not heard anything otherwise if I did you know I would tell you, all the operators were buzzing about the good biz they had and the success of the event. I went to all the parties representing CAP in style silly drunk hahaha I did hang with the GPWA guys and got pics so everyone can see we got along great.
I would go to SA for sure but I would need help for sure on what the demands would be and stuff. I think if you put on pressure and have them meet you skype video it would be best though because we need you to come out as the hero and it would be great pr.
Never forget we are on your side Lou
PS> I hear Lesnic is digging himself a hole and also I know he was being a sneaky bastard and doing private meetings with programs and also giving them HUGE discounts on the event.
February 6, 2009 at 3:42 pm #794672AnonymousInactiveThere is simply no one like Lou to solve the Grand Prive issue. Lou has the wherewithall and the authority and the skills, equal none.
And what a great way to make the first post after a few weeks off. The big splash. I can see it already. Hero returns home. :hattip:
