ok – I’ll admit it…. I FINALLY get it
Sorry, Lou… I tend to take the ‘who cares’ attitude about a lot (my wife HATES that I don’t get upset very often) and I didn’t quite see the whole point of it all.
Now I understand. I still don’t think there was any mal-intent, but can understand why you have to take a stance on it all.
My apologies.
March 3, 2008 at 11:34 pm #762415AnonymousInactiveI read that thread at GPWA also and I agree that someone needs to draw a line somewhere.
We don’t allow personal attacks here, it’s a professional board. People should feel safe posting whatever opinion they have without worrying about being personally attacked.
I feel very strongly about that. I don’t know what goes on inside GPWA, I do know there are periodic attacks directed at me, I just shrug it off. There are a couple of people shouting everyone down who speaks up about it and that will continue as long as they are members and it’s tolerated. I long ago quit being bothered by it.
But out in public that’s just totally unacceptable. There are three posters who were banned for the very thing at CAP some time ago. A long time ago. And these three now snipe at Lou from every message board that lets them.
The only two places allowing such personal attacks anymore are WOL and GPWA. Casinomeister put an end to it some time ago also.
While I understand the hoax was meant in fun, and I have tolerance for that, I don’t appreciate public attacks on Lou’s person.
That’s where the buck stops. And divulging private business meetings is also not good. These are the two issues that bother me.
March 4, 2008 at 4:45 am #762431AnonymousInactiveI went over there and said in a nice way that is BS that Lou is being flammed over there, a few of the members that were talking shit on Lou have now said they are done and were wrong. So I hope that means this is all going to be settled because if that sort of stuff continues that was my last visit there.
March 4, 2008 at 1:43 pm #762450vladcizsolMemberI catch flack occasionally for banning people whom are negative and argumentative, it doesnt happen often but it DOES happen and whats going on at GPWA illustrates just what damage even a few of these types can do to a community.
99 % of the members of GPWA are great affiliates and most are good friends I have had over the years, but the remaining small minority (less then 10) are always on the look out for a chance to drive a wedge between our communities. I hope Michael can muster the strength to drive these losers out, much as I did here. They bring nothing positive to the table, they create a hostile enviroment and unfortunately because they are so vocal and by association they give programs the impression that affiliates are unprofessional and unorganized. It really impacts what the rest of us who treat this as a business can acheive in negotiations or on important issues.

Ditto Lou
This is one of my pet peeves It does look bad on all of us Keep up the good work
I left the GPWA ? What year?
I was about the 45th member there back when the GPWA was in its infancy and helped a bit with it.
It was sad when things went amuck.
BTW I also was hoping for a turn around after Mike took over. It might still be thereBrad
