Guys,
There are some very very good posts on seochat. In particular this thread http://forums.seochat.com/t54769/s.html – Hexed comes up with a very very good theory in my opinion.
October 19, 2005 at 12:37 pm #674620AnonymousInactiveHi,
Very interested in this thread but am getting a bit lost in terminology. Can someone recomend a good resource/website for SEO basics ?
I’ve been reading a lot of the posts on SEOChat and most people seem nervous and confused as to the google changes at the moment, also a lot of high ground being taken by WH disciples !
Big hello to Peralis who is partnering me in re-establishing http://www.reviewed-casinos.co.uk :capmiami:
October 21, 2005 at 4:03 am #674742AnonymousInactiveJust checked msn.com and had a PR of 2 didnt they have much higher?
October 21, 2005 at 4:06 am #674743AnonymousInactiveMSN had a pr of 9 before the update.
October 21, 2005 at 4:50 am #674744AnonymousInactiveThere’s a thread on seochat.com about this. Probably just part of the current Google dance. Once everything settles down over the next day or 2, MSN will have to be back up to an 8-10. Unless the conspiracy theorists are correct and Google is targeting their competition.
October 21, 2005 at 10:31 am #674754AnonymousInactiveIt is interesting, all my subpages had a PR2, but the homepage onl PR1
And most of my inbound links point to my homepage..I don’t really deal with this PR thing, just it is interesting
October 21, 2005 at 2:08 pm #674769AnonymousInactiveIt’s true msn has a pr 2. I have more than them
Well I don’t think msn cares about that, google may play with us but they can’t do the same with sites like msn and yahoo. They have the traffic no matter their pr.
And I would like to know why the Nr.1 site – yahoo has a pr 9 and google has a pr 10.
Look at this:
Google -10
yahoo – 9
msn -2
msn.co.uk – 7
altavista – 9
blogger.com -10The lottery has a simpler algorythm….
October 21, 2005 at 2:13 pm #674770AnonymousInactiveAgain, regarding msn:
Lokk at the backlinks in google for msn:
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&q=link%3Awww.msn.com&btnG=SearchOnly 8, and very funny :banger:

Aaron Wall’s SEO Book is a good resource if you don’t mind spending a little bit of money. I’ve always thought it was worth every penny, and it’s updated on a regular basis.
I think you can probably pick up some of the terminology from Bruce Clay’s site or some other basic SEO sites. You could probably even find a beginner’s guide to SEO terms doing some creative searching in Google or Yahoo too.

October 22, 2005 at 2:30 am #674809AnonymousInactiveHey Everyone,
Well I must say this is one crazy Google update. MSN showing a PR 2 and Alexa was showing PR 0. Google seems to always do this near the holidays. I think they are trying to boost spending at Adwords to make more money for themself. Problem is they don’t allow online gambling. We might as well wait it out and see what the results like like in a couple of weeks. Goodluck everyone.November 2, 2005 at 11:57 am #675512AnonymousInactiveRandy wrote:Aaron Wall’s SEO Book is a good resource if you don’t mind spending a little bit of money.
